Russia is supplying both INdia(Mig-29s and Su30s) and China(S400s) weapons and making profit off balancing them out...but Russia "supports" India in any way that is required to keep their relationship close. Russia is close to both India AND China...its not a zero sum relationship.

The point is India was looking for fighters to replace MIG-29s that have crashed.

Russia offered from their junkyard. India did not like the deal. It sat on that offer for years.

When India needed Russia's support on China, India ran to Russia with a begging bowl and offered to close the deal as a bribe.

Russia took the bribe and told India to talk to China directly to sort out the issue.

India came empty handed. Of course India has to project to its citizens that this money is not lost and the fighters will help to build up the strength.

Turkey already gave up on the Uyghur issue in 2016, after the Chinese supported Erdogan in the coup attempt if I'm not mistaken. Ever since then, they've been drifting closer to China, especially with the BRI initiative. Besides, overt Turkish criticism regarding the Uyghur issue would result in China bringing up the Kurdish issue so the two sides would be at a standstill.

I don't see the usefulness of the SCO now.
I mean Russia felt threatened by China's growing influence in Central Asia (Russia's "near abroad"); so russia calls in india.
Meanwhile to counter india's inclusion china called in pakistan. At this point the whole organization becomes useless because considering the present & past situations, pakistan and india can never really work together.

According to Wikileaks as a US diplomat, Indian goals in SCO are to keep an eye on Chinese actions in Central Asia
