Only 21 of 45 MiG-29K/KUB delivered and some have only recently been delivered to the IN so haven't actually been engaged in carrier training so we can say about 2 RD-33MK have been used per MiG-29K/KUB in just over a year, there is no way the IN has logged 4,000 hours (the stipulated service life of the RD-33MK) on these engines in the span of a year ergo hardware failure.
What percent of landings is single engine landing?

The strong side of RD-33MK engine is its unique in fly reliability: unlike other contenders it works well on any AoA. Thus non AoA limitation is needed.

A variant used to power the JF-17 (FC-1). According to JF-17.com "The most significant difference being the repositioning of the gearbox along the bottom of the engine casing." The Klimov poster at Zhuhai 2010 airshow gave the thrust range of the engine to be 79 kN Dry to 98 kN Wet.[3]This was designed specifically for FC-1 with increased thrust and relocated gearbox compared to base RD-33's. Although the increase of thrust decreased the service life of RD-93 to 2200 hours from RD-33's 4000 hours. According to Air Commodore Mehmood engines are solid and reliable: “We’ve flown 7,000 hours with the engine and we haven’t had any problems”, he said [4]

The RD-33MK "Morskaya Osa" (Russian: Морская Оса: "Sea Wasp") is the latest model developed in 2001. It is intended to power the MiG-29K and MiG-29KUB shipborne fighters, however it has also been adopted for the MiG-35. The RD-33MK develops 7% higher thrust, is digitally controlled FADEC and smokeless unlike earlier RD-33 engines, has increased afterburner thrust to 9,000 kilograms-force (88,000 N; 20,000 lbf) and dry weight 1,145 kilograms (2,524 lb) compared to the baseline model through modern materials used on the cooled blades, although it retains the same length and maximum diameter. Incorporated is an infrared and optical signature visibility reduction systems. Service life has been increased to 4,000 hours. The RD-33MK ensures shipborne fighters unassisted take-off capability, retain performance in hot climate environment and, naturally, a boost in combat efficiency for MiG-29 fighter latest variant.[9][10]

we have been operating carriers from " You know What Days" our navy is smart enough to solve these issues.........
For those neighbors worrying whether vikramaditya will kick their *** surely it shall, if the need arises.....
I hope It never comes to that.....

Just issues you face with any induction
Eventually the 3 carriers and their 100 plus mig-29 and tejas could wipe out the paf on their own
I would be more worried about programs where you Don't see any such news, as with jf-17, makes you wonder if there are massive issue that are being concealed because it would hurt someone's pride in their "indigenously" "developed" fighter

The simulated landing of a French Rafale F3 landing minus one engine on the Truman deck Friday, June 4, was a dramatic moment: the US carrier's workshops handled the replacement of the "damaged" engine with a new one - the first time that American mechanics had performed a job this complicated on a foreign aircraft, using tools sent over from the Charles de Gaulle.

The problem is not LANDING, but rather the problem is breaking of a landing approach after missing a cable and then going on using one engine.

Indeed and the IN will be no different when they start operating the N-LCA from their Carriers.

The IN is just being overly cautious right now as they tackle the initial teething issues that is understandable. No doubt that they will eventually (in the very near future) shed this 200 mile restrictions and head out to open water but when there is no need to accelerate things it makes sense to tread carefully. No need to put pilots and machines at risk unnecessarily.
