It's over. India were all over Pakistan

It was a nightmare Pakistan would like to forget as soon as possible. From the word go it looked like Pakistan have seen a ghost. The ghost of Indian ascendency and their record of not to lose to Pakistan in any World Cup match. And they kept to a hundred percent beating Pakistan, their arch rivals, by seven wickets in the curtain raiser of the World Twenty-20 Cup at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka,

It looked like Pakistan are in trance as soon as their openers Ahmed Shehzad and Kamrak Akmal entered the ground. Their comical run out looked like they have seen a ghost in the middle of the strip as both seemed to have frozen at the center of the pitch.

The two batsmen close to a handshaking distance in the middle of the pitch as Shehzad abandoned Akmal as if trying to scape the imaginary ghost. Akmal on his part dropped anchor halfway down and by the time rerurned it was too late to recover the ground as Bhuvneshwar Kumar's direct hit was right onb target.

Their captain Mohammad Hafeez attributed the tragedy to the below par score by Pakistan. But that was not the only reason for their defeat.

It was actually the calm and calculated approach by their opponents to the frenzied and aimless direction by the Pakistani batsmen that brought their downfall. Their terminally ill batting, their perennial weakness, once again let them down.

All the Pakistan batsmen were culrprit of playing rash shots, if one can still call them a shot. Never in control of the stroke or at ease at the crease, they kept on playing into the hands of the Indian fielders.

The settled and planned approach of the Indian players was a marked contrast to the Pakistan response of jittery legs and shaking hands---both while batting and fielding. In comparison the settled Indian bowlers and batsmen went on to clinically complete the total Pakistan annihilation.

Pakistan's hopes of a Shahid Afridi encore of his Asia Cup exploits never materialised and Pakistan paid the heavy price on pinning hopes on Afridi coming to the party again. The odds of an Afridi coming to the rescue are always equal to one winning a US lottery.

Once the Pakistan batsmen were restricted to a below par 130 in their quota of overs it was almost impossible for Pakistan bowlers to restrict the in-form solid Indian batsmen and they cantered to the finish line with nine deliveries to spare.

To add to Pakistan woes Suresh Raina was dropped when only on 7 as the buttery Pakistan figers were unable to hold him. And it was by their best fielder Afridi in the slip. Raina and Virat Kohli gave some good lessons with batting prowess.

Pakistan's main weapon Saeed Ajmal was carted for 12 runs in one over by Shekhar Dhawan earlier but the duo realising that he is the only one capable of causing a flutter with his variations dropped anchors and his next three overs resulted in only six more runs.

The Indians played his overs giving him the due respect but still the target was at least 20-25 runs short to pose any real threat to the Indians.

The defeat has left Pakistan in a precarious position in a group which also has Australia and West Indies to be tackled with and if Pakistan wants to keep their record of having at least played in all semi-finals in the format intact will have to improve leaps and bounds.

That's why I stopped watching these JOKERS FROM PAKISTAN, long time ago. This has never been Pakistan select but this is what you call "'PERCHEE SELECT"" ELEVEN.
RIP Pakistan Cricket!!!

It's T20 , even Bangladesh and Ireland have the potential to win this. T20 doesn't show the competence of a team. It's literally just pure luck. So Pakistan losing to India doesn't mean anything. It's like making a football match a 40 minute game. Once you get lucky and score 1-2 goals ,the other team will have no chance of coming back. Just think about it.20 overs, 10 batsmen. Each Batsmen literally has to survive 2 overs average on the crease and can play any retarded shots. Only a Pakistan- India test or one day series played out of the subcontinent can decide who the better team is. India tend to be tigers in the subcontinent , but everyone knows they are puny rats when asked to play outside. Did you see what New Zealand and England did to us when we played there?

They won against Indians few days back and every body started praising Lala like a celestial figure descended from heaven. They lost yesterday and everybody is criticizing them like hell. Come on, this is a game and the cricketers are humans.

It is a game and cricketers are human, but Pakistanis did not play well, and this is not for the first time. We always win by chance not by hard work and proper planning. If you win a match in the last over on the last balls means something is not right. Viking63 is correct, this is not Pakistan cricket team, it is parchi cricket team. Misbah, Hafeez, Akmal brothers (they are shady), and Afridi have to go. These players bring disgrace to the country and to the cricket.

I know Sir. Pakistan cricket team does not play well consistently and this is why every body call this team talented but unpredictable. My point is when they wins everybody's level of expectations touches the sky and literally start worshiping these players. Again condemn them by the worst possible way we can when they lose next match. One day we make them God, next day we call them demons. This attitude I have to disagree with.Nothing else.

i think ,they were in too much pressure, from starting, rest of the match is yet to play

its just one match, and we started concluding too much .....

good luck for pak team....for next match

Right. And this is what I am trying to say. Nobody was expecting Afridi to repeat his Asia Cup heroics. It was one in ten million odds. But the questions are raised on the professionalism of the whole team. The fans expect a lot of them and they always disappoint.

We seriously need to grow up mentally and i am saying this for both Indian and Pakistani fans. We lack maturity and true sportsmanship We take sport and make it matter of so called ego and national pride. Its fine to have little bit fun or teasing but I said this when Pakistan won one match against India in asia cup and there was so much fuss about it everywhere . Indian media was busy in bashing their team non stop and we were praising them for next two three days as if they have won the world cup after beating India. Even we had some people in our country who were giving rewards and land to afrdi for hitting two sixes lol.

This mentality and too much media hype is not good for our players who always crumble in pressure matches because of so much expectations from fans. They dont play their natural game in pressure matches If you win today then you may lose tomorrow. Be realistic. We have talented team but its not team which will win every match for us . Its not team from whom you expect to win every series or tournament. One win make us very optimist and one defeat make us very pessimist . We need to keep some balance between these two just like fans of Australian or SA teams

Pakistan's problems

1> Shoiab Malik... no place but a clear case of "Sifarish"... technically we played with 10 players...He is good for nothing

2> Kamran Akmal... out of Pakistan's squad for a long time yet gets to make a comeback in WorldT20 .... Parchee

3> Our squad includes just one extra batsman... and 3 more bowlers... i.e., Sharjeel Khan (batsman)... Zulfiqar Babar,Sohail Tanveer, M Talha.... When we know our batting is weak... why the hell our squad does not include batting options?

4> Yesterday we played with 2 wicket keeper, 7 bowlers and 2 pure batsmen (A. Shezad and S Maqsood)....

5> Apart from all the above we seem to be lacking the sting in bowling.... wicket taking , fast very fast bowlers :(

6> Last point, i see a lack of cohesion in this team.... it seems 11 individual players playing....not a team...

In the end congrats India.... you guys deserved to win and if we continue with same team , I will be amazed if even beat one team in this tournament... seriously speaking

another thing is they keep testing and bringing same players again and again after giving them some rest :D

pakistan cricket team is overrated , asia cup win was also achieved with so much struggle and that too against a team where big players like raina, yuvi and dhoni were missing

WELL PLAYED INDIA

and 9-0 :yahoo: :bunny: :cheesy: :chilli: :victory: :bounce: :yay: :nana:
