Indus Water Treaty won't survive, says UN report

Aksai Chin is in our hands.
It’s Indian government that asks questions about Aksai Chin which means “white sand beach of China”. Are you too young or retarded in someway?

http://thediplomat.com/2015/02/china-and-india-want-a-breakthrough-on-their-border-dispute/

"............India and China dispute two large swaths of territory: Arunachal Pradesh to the east of Bhutan and Aksai Chin on the western edge of the India-China border. Arunachal Pradesh is administered by India as a state while Aksai Chin is administered by China as part of Xinjiang. In the 1990s, China and India effectively agreed to hold to the status quo, with both countries agreeing to abide by the Line of Actual Control until their governments could agree on a true border. "

...... oooops :P

This treaty will survive with all its flaws. Among other Water treaties in the world, this is the only water treaty who could lead 2 nuclear countries toward War. So it is in the world's interest to protect this treaty.

What happens if there is no water in Indus? Glaciers are melting due global warming. I don't think Indus will survive for much time. Pakistan has to rethink its policy on water.

It won't take India much time to change its position. Already there are many voices in India to change its position. You have to understand China has no influence over India. Instead of fighting for Pakistan, you should think about Trump's rethink on one china policy.

Yes, you can divert Indus if you want. Good luck with that

Change your government position then talk.
Trump loves China and it‘s not your business!

As far as I know India doesn't say that Tibet is integral part of China. Even China calls it autonomous region. What India's position is China and Dalai Lama should sit together and sort out.

Slow and steady my friend .......... you are in too much hurry. We Indians like to take things slow and steady.

For now why don't you start negotiating with the Tibetan PM ?

We will destroy every inch of India if they implement any ill intention physically.

lol..... all the best. Better hurry.

Theoretically China could dam all the waters of Indus river. Maybe we should do this to force a reasonably sharing between Pak and India. Otherwise we could divert water into Pakistan through artificial channels.

Build a bridge with huge water pumps over the himalayas and transport it directly to Pakistan. Easily done :D

After all China is higher than Everest neighbour right.

Lack of water treaty will mean wa as Pakistan cannt live without water and will have to fight for it.
Modi has gone war crazy and lost common sense so be it.

Yes,Indians don’t want to know and can‘t understand what engineering projects China has accomplished in the areas. It’s waste of time to educate you Indians!

It is nothing to do with India or Pakistan, but to do with decreasing water levels in Indus and also due to ambiguity in the treaty on India's storage rights when water levels are low.
Its for whatever but if we don't get water there will be chaos in whole region nothing else..We kill each other in villages to irrigate land if somebody just for one night stole water..If you think you will make our lands useless or make us die with hunger you are wrong..Totally wrong. We will better destroy everything on your side and let you destroy our side than to face this..It's very simple ...If we don't live in peace with food in stomach we will never let you have it also

"For over 40 years, the Indus Water Treaty has proved to be an outstanding example of conflict resolution. An increase in water stress in the basin states since the early 90s has brought the Treaty under strain. In fact, its survival appears weak, although there is no exit clause," it said.

"Outstanding example of conflict resolution" my foot!

The only reason that IWT has held up despite gravest provocations and wars is because the ENTIRE ONUS of abiding by the treaty lies with India while Pakistan is a mere beneficiary of the treaty.

The true test of this treaty would have been if Pakistan also had a couple of major rivers as an upper riparian state flowing into 'kufr' India as part of the treaty!

It's high time it is abrogated and call Pakistanis' bluff, for once they will be forced to fight face-to-face. If sanctity of our own Parliament was not spared by the Pakistanis when they attacked it, what is that of a mere treaty?
