NE region especially Arunachal and Assam gets 30Ùª of it's fresh water resources from the Brahmaputra river which naturally originates from Tibet (now under Chinese occupation). If China wants to divert the water flow, then we've many other options like the 2,585 MW project on River Sankosh. The project received grant money from a partnership between Bhutan and India in 2017 and will be one of the largest hydropower project in the region. The project cost is $1.65 billion which is an ambitious and expensive project for a small country with a GDP of $2.7 billion.
