Off the topic, but Indonesia did support Pakistan in past wars.
And Pakistan also supported Indonesia during her war of independence.. Pak also sent troops against the colonial armies.. Weapons being flown to Jakarta were seized on the airport/ports of Karachi on the orders of QA.

There is no death penalty relating to drugs in Pak.

We only started execution of hardcore terrorists from 2015 onwards.. Before it was banned for a decade..

The major reason that BD left the old Pakistan was that it was being exploited economically.
BD resources was being transferred to build up the
economy of the current Pakistan.

So feel free to feel superior to Pakistan and India,
but not against BD for sure.
You had nothing except jute.. Or tornadoes.. Even your parliament was constructed by Ayub Khan...

Ok. In Indonesia there're 3 crime that can be sentenced by death. Terrorism, Drug trafficking, Planned murder.

In Pak it's either Homicide or terrorism... And exceptions .. Where paedophiles have been executed publically by the state in the past..(hope those are made legal again).

There is no hypocrisy.. The man alleges that he is innocent and should be tried.. And if found guilty he himself would volunteer for death penalty.

Audi Alteram Patern.. Let the other side be heard.

He already had his trial few years ago (whether it's fair or no, i have no competency to judge), together with an Indian that accused him. They both on death row list.

Right groups are claiming that there is no evidence except confession taken by use of torture.

People can claim anything, but it's the judges who say the final word and give sentence. Unfortunately in this case, the judges said guilty, and gave him death sentence.

what can you expect from such right groups?

I'm a lawyer and I pretty much know how those confessions are extracted by police in developing states..

Self incriminating confessions should be fully scrutinised... Along with corroborated evidence.. And maximum penalty shouldn't be enforced..

We ourself face a major drug problem with the country consuming 3-4 billion worth narcotics thanks to afghan poppy fields.. So we can understand..

Then i hope the truth can be unfolded, and justice served. Whatever that is...

@DESERT FIGHTER

Why don't you do some research on the economics of the old Pakistan and then you will see how much resources were transferred from East to West.
Jute was a highly valuable commodity in the 1950s
and early 60s.

Past is past and BD now is looking forward to future.
I only mentioned Pakistan to put that ignorant
Indonesian in their place.

You
Well,Good step by Indonesia.

I hope India too takes similar step to ensure zero tolerance on drugs.I've seen that among Indians, taking drugs and booze has become a "fashion".we should also try to curb these "cultures",which is dragging our generation into abyss.
You got the point. We use this becouse we are sad by the fact that more then 40 young man dye by narcotic every day. We eager to see our strong generation in future and the youth are its core actor to handle that.
Thanks

well, our Law had consistently giving the convicts every rights they deserved during the interrogation process and trial process. Any breach on that, will be a major scandal and can caused the offender to be severely punished

The law is in Indonesia Language

Universal Declaration of Human Right diterjemahkan dalam bahasa Indonesia sebagai Deklarasi Universal Hak Asasi Manusia (1949).

In English

According to Article 117, paragraph 1, "and the description of a suspect or a witness to an investigator be given without pressure from anyone or in any form." It means that the presence of that Article, the examination by investigators for the purpose of investigation should be appropriate and respectful of human rights.

In addition, the loading of human rights in police work as an investigator, is also affirmed in Article 4 of Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Police, "the Indonesian National Police is aimed at establishing security in the country, which includes maintenance of security and public order, order and the rule of law , the implementation of protection, shelter, and service to the community, as well as terbinanya peace of society and uphold human rights. "Then there is also affirmed in Article 19 paragraph 1" that the police should always act based on the rule of law, and heed the norms of religion, decency, and morality and upholding human rights. "

In relation to the police authority to conduct an examination of the suspect in order to obtain information relating to a crime, then the principle of thumb is based on Article 33 of Law No. 39 of 1999 confirmed "that every person has the right to be free from torture, punishment or treatment cruel, inhuman, degrading human dignity.

Regarding the meaning of torture itself was later confirmed in Article 1 paragraph 4:
"Torture is any act committed intentionally, causing pain or suffering severe, is intentionally inflicted on a person to obtain a confession or information from a person or a third person, punishing him for an act he has committed or is suspected of having committed a person or a third person, or for such pain or suffering is inflicted by, at the instigation of with the consent or knowledge of anyone and or public officials. "

In the criminal justice process is a series of chains (the series of chains). The police officer who occupies the position of gatekeeper (as agate of keeper), to borrow a phrase Sunarto in Muladi, 2005: 142), of course, also must pay attention to the rights of suspects. Universal Declaration of Human Rights was translated into Indonesian as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1949). This declaration contains Article 30 which includes a variety of human rights. Such as the right to life, the right to rest, and the right to entertainment.
