Indigenous Fighter Aircraft to be a Reality Soon, Says Parrikar

Brother Day 1 Pakistan thinks about launching attack . India put its entire western command, Naval destroyers INS viki , Indian Airforce put on war mode prepared to destroy instalation.

Day 2 Pakistan start military build up India send it's Naval asserts even close. While sukois and Navy's Migs taking shorties with BVR, Cluster Bombs and A2G bombs.

Day 3 Pakistan breach. Indian Airforce moves in to Pakistan airspace. Bramos Launched and destroys key SAM systems. Navy open fire... More Bramos hits karachi with pin point accuracy. Indian army initiates Cold Start.

Day 4 Indian Army advances in many parts of Pakistan. Indian Airforce destroys major airstrip in one campaign with long range sukois, migs jags mirages...
Great the idea seems ok but you are missing so many points any ways best thing to do is close your eyes and dream .Tactical nukes are detterent they will be used but when we are over run that my firend you will see what happened 65/71 West Pakistan i think you forget history

Bro, for a competition of this type, the aircraft have to have similar capability. LSA is in the Rafale class. LSA's payload is 7.5 tons on 16 hardpoints. LCA's payload is 5 tons on 7 hardpoints. LCA's internal fuel fraction is 0.29. LSA's internal fuel fraction is 0.37.

There's really nothing to compare. They are two entirely different classes of aircraft.

Anyway, ADA/HAL won't be involved with LSA. The rest of DRDO will be expected to get involved though, like LASTEC, DARE, LRDE, GTRE etc, along with Elbit, Rafael, Elisra, IAI etc.

When someone is pushing for a project of this scale , that too like a miracle ,
One cannot imagine how much of odds he has to go through..

Even though we sound so pessimistic , we are still looking for that miracle to happen...

Probably Parrikar was talking about our indiginas lamba chutiya aircraft(lca),,,,if we look at its developement curve,,it will still need anothr 4-5 years for completion.

Why I said ADA/HAL was bcz since its a stealth bird, i was hoping that DRDO, ADA and HAL can use certain specific tech of LSA and develop it further for AMCA.

HAL/ADA have their own plan for AMCA. HAL has the FGFA also.

LSA will be run by private companies. It will create its own independent ecosystem.

Can you ask the creator VSTOL about the stealth aspect and what kind of cost, downtime between sorties for maintenance and the doctrine fitment.. Is he feeling for a one more TASA or he is looking a for a multirole jet? Reason being with such high numbers the permutation combination are many possibilities for a mission.

All I know is its goal was to be as stealthy as the F-22 and they have exceeded it. He mentioned this a long time ago.

I'm not gonna ask him for the rest, let him answer those at a later date.

In fact, why not use Israel and create a better than Growler capable LSA.. You know we have that segment need and we lack any capable jets in our squadron. Technically, with such payload capability, if suppose we can have something like these in place of IWBs say the jammer pods or may be incorporating the same within the IWBs but looking at how much actual signal attenuation and loss will occur to see if pods in IWBs can work for said range

A single engine LSA growler version can actually make it very very attractive

He says the main bays can be modified to carry EW or a laser or any other special mission equipment.

Growler class aircraft are obsolete anyway. In the future, aircraft will carry radars that work on all bands internally, and they will be tasked with jamming. It's still effective today, but by the time we make something like the Growler, it will become pointless.

I'm also in your line of thinking ..

Probably LCA mk1a

Foreign tech, he meant AESA, EW and engines.. I guess.

Mk2 needed 7 years time frame even with minimum possible changes..

The design is completed and presented before AF officials. Any idea about "Light Stealth Aircraft"?? And it will be one of he cheapest one.

'soon' in Indian defense culture is a good ten years away, the enemies of India should not worry.

Tejas is indigenous if it has an indigenous engine. Engine is the most important part of a plane.

Kaveri based engine will be ready by 2024-25 aka reliable enough for mass production.

Engine!Engine!Engine! I think he meant this. May be he is talking about AMCA with our own Engine!!
Only the Airframe of LCA is indigenous.

There won't be Kaveri based engine ever. This engine had undetected design flaws, hidden well for many years by GTRE/ DRDO from Govt & Public. Now, they are trying to rebuild on Kabini Core under project entitled K9+. Another initiative called K10 in partnership with "Snecma" is being talked about, but the French firm may have lost interest in view of India's adamance about transfer of critical know-how.

What do you mean by indigenous -- developed by ADA/DRDO ?? or items LRUs developed by Indian companies and various PSUs including HAL.

Do I need to post the whole list of items ??

Whatever you heard about the Kaveri was only the proof of technology -- The technology Demostrator, the real engine will be developed on the Kaveri Tech, and various technology which was developed during the Kaveri Project.

1. Kaveri is only delinked from the LCA, not scrapped, and only the last milestone left is the supersonic flight test on the Mig 29 with one engine as kaveri.

2. The AIR intake of the LCA, even AMCA was developed around the Kaveri pressure spec., and haven't been changed, rather been patched for the LCA MK-1.

In the Present Global world, nobody makes fully indigenous product, and the economics of costing should acquire the subparts anywhere which is more cheaper, reliable, and advantageous.

For those who is crying Indigenous Indigenous

Fine-Tuning Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Procedure with us Government by Ministry of Defence

Part of Scrupulous and Holistic Financial Management

The Ministry of Defence has fine-tuned the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procedure with the US Government. Rather than raising bills case-wise every quarter, all the funds against various cases have been pooled together in a corpus. As and when funds are required to be paid per case, in fulfillment of contractual liabilities, the said amount is being withdrawn from the corpus. Consequent to this creation of the corpus in consultation with the US Government, no payments have been made in the last two quarters of the financial year 2015-16, against cases which necessitated payments, against the said contracts. Instead, payment is being effected from the corpus of 2.3 billion US Dollars. It is hoped that no payments shall be required to be made till the amount of 2.3 billion US Dollars is depleted and there is a necessity for us to replenish certain amount as required. This has happened through scrupulous and holistic financial management. Consequently, while US government will continue to meet their contractual obligations, there will be no additional burden on Government of India on this account. It enables utilization of scarce funds on other projects and hedges the country against adverse exchange rates.
