That is the problem, you guys shutting off water at Farakka and for Teesta hasn't harmed us? Last year India transited tens of thousands of tonnes of rice to NE India via Bangladesh and didn't pay one red cent. It was 'humanitarian' favor we did. Well we are done doing favors.

India helped us getting independence to break its chief enemy state into two and to prevent being encircled by them. You did a favor to yourself.

We are providing transit that serves no financial benefits to us rather invites extra financial burden in terms of the LoCs and are taking care of your security in your Northeast at the cost of our own strategic and security interests. We are doing a favor to you.

There is a big difference between the two. Once you take your Indian hat off, you will be able to see the difference by applying minimum common sense.

'Taking care of security" - you really overestimate your importance. Jeez.

You are only creating problems that shouldnt exist. As a neighboring country with difficult geography, you have some responsibility that any other friendly country obliges anywhere in the world. Of course you should be compensated favourably for it, and thats why your govt. should make a good deal.

We should really be providing that business to Pakistan - to start with.

Wake up Raju. Yes your govt. does. The Indian High Commission in Bangladesh is the largest one in the Effing World.

Wake up and Smell the Coffee. There are kiosks for Indian visa in every mall in Dhaka which you can use to apply for Indian visa. Soon Bangladeshis will get on arrival visa in India, based on certain requirements. Your govt. wants to bend over backwards to get Bangladeshi tourist dollars.

Go to Kolkatta sometime and talk to the wholesalers and retailers in that town. Ask them when they do their business. The answer will be unanimous, during the two Eids when they make the whole year's profits.

BD is the buyer and India is the seller.

Since BD can get all that it gets from India elsewhere, albeit at a slightly higher cost, this gives BD the real power in the relationship.

You sell over 10 billion US dollars of goods and services to BD net every year and will feel a sharp pain if this vanished.

While BD economy grows at over 8%, India is now down at 5% level.

Understand how weak you really are compared to BD.

Your calling our country a shithole doesn't matter - everyone knows where the real shithole is. What do you call a country where open defecation is an ongoing practice for a majority of ALL residents?

It's called India. This is as early as five years ago, things have improved somewhat now, but India still lags way behind Bangladesh and Pakistan. 25 to 50% of Indians STILL defecate out in the open. Please compare your shithole to those is Subsaharan Africa, not to us.
