In this day and age and with PA's impressive surveillance assets, an attack of this magnitude is next to impossible without warning. Activity of this magnitude is impossible to hide against a foe like PA, expect the PA to start mobilizing as soon as activity is detected in Indian cantonments. Besides, PA's mechanized assets will reach the border much more faster to halt the attack than IA's armoured assets can. Thus, the whole premise behind 'Cold Start' which consists the notion of surprise fails because India cannot surprise Pakistan with an attack of this magnitude. India is still a 3rd world army which lacks the calibre in its officer and lower level core to launch an audacious attack like this.
I think that would be a little presumptuous of us.
After all, it was the same idea that the "Hindu" cannot fight that led to disasters like 65 and 71.
We do have the advantage of having assets closer to the border, but that is because we have little to fall back on.
Our lines of communication are across a few lines of longitude... while India can be pushed back and still not be pushed back.
The idea of cold start seems to be fear and deception along with some improvement to the already existing "brasstacks" concept ironed back in the 80's.
Small incursions will do us not much harm but will serve for useful distraction till a much larger force(s) are brought in to break through our lines and cut Pakistan into pieces at different sectors.
Our surveillance is exceptionally good when it comes to looking east.. on the ground. But the air is where the Indians want to blow us out of the sky. They will use the range of their new fighters to bypass existing defenses and open up new routes of attack on the PAF. The whole idea of the massive upgrade is to keep the PAF locked in battle for its own survival so that it cannot provide adequate support to the Pakistan army which will then be pounded down from both ground and air.
Our navy is non-existent as it is compared to the Indians so blockade's are expected.
Our deterrent is our nuclear capability.. and even with all the ballistic interceptors Dehli can afford the chance of them missing is what keeps those proponents of war in India at bay.
However.. as a hyperbole canard..it seems the Americans have now decided to instigate events that will lead to the removal/disabling of our nuclear arsenal so that the only threat the keeps India from moving in gets taken out... and they also seem keen ot make sure that Balochistan is ready to become a hostile land for us when such happens.
But then again, these are hyperbolic thoughts based on how the trojan of cold start could go bad for us.
