What's new

India's Arjun tank

None for export. It's in pilot induction with the Indian Army now. If there is any reason it may not be mass inducted it will be not because of problems (T-90s have them too), it will be because the Indian Army's armored corp would have to modofy/ re-think their entire fighting doctrine ( used to the T series tanks) rather than a NATO/L2 tank.

It is supposed to replace aging T-72s etc.

The Arjun tank there was an huge investment and it has allot of western tech on board and the unit price 16.8 crore which I think is cheap it could be an interesting product in the Market.

More counteries are looking towards a cheap but effective product like Al-Khalid its allready been sold to I name a few Siri Lanka, Iraq....

I think the unit price is going to be higher than that. Plus the negative press never helps with sales.

I couldn't find any other site with the Unit price.

Well from memory it was approx $4 million.Which is your estimate.I got my conversions wrong! Which is quite high for a cheap end tank and cheap for a high end tank.(m1 is $5 mill approx) A T-series tank is approx $2mill.

One of the main reason for such a price is it's engine. It is almost 2 million!

From overseas the only order this tank can get is from TATA's newly acquired steel mills....................lol

Interceptor, I told you to order one for your town centre.

Are you capable of EVER contributing to this thread as an adult, or are you here just to needlessly babble and earn everyone's disrespect?

That is a very expensive engine its more like Bugatti engine probably more expensive then that.:D I think its not the engine its the westren technology it must have the price for that and it also has a sort of design comming form the Leopard so its got very good armour and its weight shows that. It is also the thing called profit now India has spent a good bit of money on this Tank and for good bit of time like say 30 YEARS!!! So there will be good price tag on it to have return on what they funded.

Interceptor I believe that the engine was a Gas turbine engine. Hence the much higher cost.

WHICH IS THE BEST ARMOUR A TANK CAN HAVE TODAY?
IS KANCHAN ARMOUR COMPARABLE TO OTHER WELL-KNOWN ARMOURS?
