I dont understand why we still using prithvi which is liquid fueled when we have developed the next generation universal missiles like the shourya and K15.

I think its because Prithvi is proven, very capable missile and testbed for many new technology. So until Shaurya, K-15 become mainstay of short range missiles, Prithvis are here to stay, atleast for next four/five years. They have been deployed in large number as well.

US and Russia both have around 2,000 strategic nukes with MIRVs, and multiple modes of delivery (ICBMs, SLBMs, etc.).

Do you think this ABM system (or any for that matter) can stop a strategic nuclear assault of such magnitude and sophistication?

On the other hand, Pakistan only has around 100 warheads (and not all are strategic) with much smaller payloads, only one mode of delivery, and no MIRVs.

Against a small and unsophisticated arsenal like Pakistan's, India's ABM shield is perfect.

Exactly, and that's why I said this system is perfect for India's defence needs.

But this system does not make India immune from all nuclear assaults, and that should be understood.

Not Everything can be proved, it can be only simulated through a combat scenario... Chose the best rather than those used in combat.... Pinaka was first used in combat, How many of them are on order, they proved to be good in real time theater, but how many are on order?
