Indian RAW kidnaps retired Pakistan Army officer from Nepal

Which is a pity because I expect the govt. to be PROACTIVE and not Reactive.

We as a country don't have that level of national cohesion the way Israel, Russia or USA have. These countries have a strong sense of national unity, cohesion and support which means that their leaders don't bicker and fight over the impact of hostile states on their national interests; this is unlike the opposition we have in the name of Congress and all of its allies who argue more in support of the hostile nation rather than their own country.

Give it time; we are moving towards a cohesive political doctrine which will change India for good. And then we can expect that level of proactive approach.

Pakistani's are not logical. It would be a waste of time taking that approach.

You have to talk to them in their language, which is blackmail, threats, pressure and under hand dealings.

And how do you propose we do that?

Officer Jadhav isn't held in some remote border jail where our commandos could para-drop, shoot their way in Hollywood style and get him and themselves out in one piece. They'd have moved him to one of their central cities, and while Pakistan is a much smaller country in size, it is by no means geographically navigable by any special forces units easily.

Conducting a shock-and-awe rescue operation is just way out of the question. It would put the lives of the team in danger.

Prisoner swap seems to be the only way out of this.

I'd be astounded if a rescue operation took place. Not really concerned about Pakistani comments here but it is virtually impossible.

The SEALs Team 6 was able to kill OBL because Abottabad is relatively remote. Had Laden been hidden in Karachi or Islamabad, it would have been impossible even for US Marines to do the job. And that was just to kill that old loony dingbat.

Here, it will be about rescuing officer Jadhav back along with the safe return of all of our team folks back. Totally different scenario.

Maybe some non-state actors could have done the job... but RAW isn't exactly the talking type as to what they will do, would they? ;)

This has nothing to do with Cohesion, this has everything to do with NATIONAL RESOLVE.

The WILL determines the WAY.

What we are seeing here is a firming of our National Resolve. Everything else is just the side effects.

Nothing is impossible, but kidnapping their officer is the path of least resistance and is always the preferred way forward.

I am in total approval of this line of approach.

I am just disappointed that such a contingency was not anticipated and our response time was this long. Still better late than never. Hopefully in the future, our response will be a lot faster and more powerful.

We need a lot more "non state actors" to be alive and well in Pakistan.

We are still not prepared for asymmetric warfare. RAW needs to have a very strong offensive wing and it needs to be wide spectrum.

It was never intended for you in any case. So no worries.

Is it the end or the beginning? choose carefully.

with pakistani its neither the end nor the beginning. Just business as usual.

It might have taken long, but look at the size of the fish we have meticulously reeled in. Pakistani establishment is hurting, look at the urgency behind Kulbhushan Jadhav's "trial" and sentencing. They want their man back, as soon as possible.

True that

But I am talking about Evolution. Let this operation be the start of a beautiful response team and may it become stronger and stronger every year.

You have a point there.

I'm afraid Jadhav will have to wait till the old useless retired bird sings all the songs he knows.

And then some that he is taught and encouraged to sing.

Naam Shabana.

Extraction team comes in only at the last minute, we need to ramp up our HUMINT network and SIGNIT capabilities, that matters more. We need to have a presence in every corner of the world, its time India started punching its weight.

Every business has two consenting parties fully aware of the consequences, risks and rewards of a transaction. So just to let you know if you missed on it. The rest keep your hopes high but I don't see this current transaction hold any weight, not a reasonable exchange.

This Kulbhushan's sentence and Col (R) Habib's kidnap are related to each other. PA struck preemptively by declaring the colonel missing and asking Nepal for clarification. Indians were deliberately skipped because now if they produce the colonel, they will be seen as culprits. Had this not been done or there would have been a delay, we would have already seen "Pakistani Spy arrested in India" flashing across Indian news channels. Indians would have surely used the Colonel as a bargaining chip for Kulbhushan. The release of Kulbhushan would have sent a very heartening signal to RAW operatives that INDIA WILL GET YOU BACK SAFE AND SOUND! So it was utmost essential to get rid of Kulbhushan as urgent as one could. This Court Martial is also a story, I doubt he being trialed by the military. The sole purpose of his sentence is to stop India from Bargain. But I must ask, why the colonel behaved so stupidly to walk right into the pit of the snake. I mean if any other citizen would have been kidnapped, it would have made a lot of sense. But the colonel, being a military man retired only three years ago, should have known how the border area near nepal is a no-man's land. The greed for $$$ got the better of the idiot.

Let us first have enough presence in pakistan and china. Rest of the world can come Much Much later.

We need HUMINT in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Tibet.

SIGNIT is just the cherry on the top, the key is always HUMINT.

pakistan is ripe for the taking. We should be able to act within pakistan even without moving a finger in India. That is the level of capability we need to develop.

Then I guess we will have to raise the stakes till it appears "reasonable" to the men in the straight jacket.

I don't know about HK and Beijing, but we have enough of a footprint in Tibet to make sure that China will never consolidate there.

We basically took over seamlessly the entire infrastructure, network, and resources of the CIA from the 60s and 70s and have institutionalized it under the Indian Army.

hahahaha @padamchen there are indian forums to feed this joke of an indian ego do these hanky panky there. Its incredible how india has consolidated in tibet and none in its own territory like manipur, arunachal pradesh rofl. Eveyday we see pictures of tibetans running with indian flag on the streets lol. India is cornered tries to solve its issues on surface with denials, randi rona and media, this situation cant work anymore.
