I believe the Indian Navy is 3 times ahead of the other two services in self-reliance.

If we think about capability and technology, IN is ten years ahead of IAF and twenty years ahead of IA. They are the first one to implement modern technologies as always. They have number of stealth ships, nuclear submarines and number of carriers. But where is IAF and IA? What they have that gives huge technological and capability edge over enemies? Large number of MKI and netcentric capabilities are the only two things IAF to be proud of.

even if you take example of LCA, navy is backing this project even though its requirements are low. and they are constantly in touch with HAL and clear about what they want.
where as IAF keeps on changing its requirements like IA. they should be more professional and supportive towards indeginisation.
