There was never any operation like Bluestar in Pakistan; then why is condition of the SIKH community in Pakistan so pathetic??

Why do hundreds of Sikhs from Pakistan from their ancestral homes come over to India for refugee??

Why is the Sikh Percentage in Pakistan dropped in Pakistan since Partition?
There is still couple of questions in my mind but I would request a sane MUSLIM to answer my questions one by one.

This demand from a sikh gentleman is feeling of hundreds and thousands of sikhs.. ask your sikh friend and see what he says, dont just gloss over it.
Its time they get their own marriage law, it may not mean much in reality but it makes people feel good.

The Sikh slaughter was nothing to do with the SLI. If anything, the sufferers were the Jat Sikhs who backed the Akali Dal, and then, on the brain-dead Zail Singh's instance, backed Bhindranwale and his brand of extremism. Jat Sikhs are recruited into the Sikh Regiment and the Punjab Regiment. The British had constituted the SLI as a regiment for other Sikhs, and that is so plainly unfair that other groups have been proposed for inclusion as an experimental measure. It did happen in the Sikh Regiment, abut was not considered successful, so it has been dropped in most older Class regiments.

These mixed battalions were known as Vaidya battalions, and have not taken off. Personally I believe that other than the Gorkhas, most regiments ought to be mixed class regiments.

For the record, the Punjab Regiment has Jat Sikhs and Dogras, the Sikh Regiment is mainly Jat Sikh, the Sikh Light Infantry is Mazahabi and Ramdasi Sikhs.

Hindus need not follow one book. Nether do they believe in a petty and cranky God that condemns everyone to hell who do not follow a specific set of rules. Hindu religion is not so obstinate so as to disregard any contradicting thought. It doesn't asks its followers to spread itself, nor does it preaches that it is perfect, and all else is fallacy.

It believes in a compassionate, forgiving God which loves all its creation. It teaches that irrespective of the cast, creed, birth or religion, all have equal chances of going to heaven. It places your morality, how you treat your fellow creations above your faith in a single book.

For someone who is only capable of a simplistic view, black and white would call it mambo jumbo. For one who is not intellectually developed enough, would be incapable to touch any of its underlying philosophies. Those people should keep on ridiculing others faith believing that it is the only path to heaven...

I have mentioned this before, but Indian laws don't claim any of these religion to be Hindus. Don't forget who chaired the constitution drafting committee. A converted Buddhist. I am sure he would be the strongest opposer to be classified as a Hindu!

Indian laws don't define the religions, but (in this case) on which religion the specific personal laws would be applicable.

It gives special concession to Muslims, Christians, Jews and Parsis, the non-Indic religion. For Indic religions, same laws are applicable, as throughout history, they followed same civic laws. Thus a same set of laws, called Hindu (personal) laws are applicable on all Indic religions. This has nothing to do with classification of religions, rather what laws would those religions follow.

If any of this religion has any problem with the specified law, bar the name, they can come forward. But none have. The only problem is the name which is a misunderstanding.

Hindus are not compelled to follow Bhagavad Gita. And Guru means teacher, not a mediator between man and God.

Constitutionally, India&#8217;s Prime Minister is a Hindu and not a Sikh as Sikhs by law are considered as part of Hinduism. Not only that, even Buddhists and Jains are considered as off-shoot of Hinduism and are not accepted as followers of separate religions.

Article 25 in The Constitution Of India 1949, clearly states that:

&#8220;Hindus shall be construed as including a reference to persons professing the Sikh, Jaina or Buddhist religion, and the reference to Hindu religious institutions shall be construed accordingly&#8221;

Indian state does not recognize Buddahism as a seperate religion from Hinduism. What is the major religion in China? Hint... Buddahism. According to this logic, Chinese are in the fold of Hinduism...
