The Close-this-thread campaigners may count on my vote too .This thread has run its course .

Now we all happen to be deviating from Helicopters to Fighter Aircraft ( F 16s and MKI's ) . Before long we might move to ISI and RAW and then to Economy ....

Better to stop it now.

Pilot and heli went up the hill

To fetch a repair of heli

Heli lost sight and GPS broke down

And heli came tumbling after

Then up got heli with new filled fuel

And got back home and thanked the men.

PS: Nursery rhyme for the pdf kids..

IND-PAK wants good relations now. That's why GoP didn't take chance to escalate tension btw both countries. Many of PDF members supporting to shot the Chopper..... Remember one thing Even incase of war we are not going to fight, of-course not on PDF. its our brothers who are dying to save our life's, We should respect them. So please Don't talk nonsense about soldiers (both IND-PAK).

Thanks to PA to send back our chopper, and our brothers safe. Mods close the thread.

I know it bro. thanks anyways.

What is an electronic equivalent of this episode that we can do on the forum to improve some relations here as well :) ??
Good one Karan
Start a troll thread against Pak or Ind (crossing of the LOC), have a gentle discussion amongst senior members (hot line), post some nice comments about each other (return of pilots) and finally share e-Sweets (eJalaibi, eRusgullas, eBurfi) among all PDF members.

On another thought ...I am not sure if it will work :cheesy:

.
actually we take good care of pilots like them.since in this case the mistake is from our pilot's part they are likely to be punished.

in kargil war time,
Wing Commander Kambampati Nachiketa had to eject from his mig-27 following an engine flame out and was taken PoW.

Nachiketa is currently a Wing Commander and flies Illyushin-78 mid air refuller transport aircraft with No.78 Squadron, Indian Air Force stationed at Agra. He was transferred to Transports due to the injuries he sustained during para-landing and the physical hardships during captivity.

Sir,

There were no physical hardships during captivity-----he got the ejection blues----.

Pakistan took security data from Indian chopper: Indian media

NEW DELHI: The Pakistan army allegedly breached Indian security and downloaded all the digital data from the Indian army helicopter that strayed into Skardu on Sunday, stated a report published in The Hindustan Times.

The report claimed that the data includes the GPS coordinates and location of all Indian helipads in the Siachen and Kargil areas.

“We are treating the incident with utmost concern as coordinates of all helipads in the 14 Corps including Siachen Glacier and LAC are now with Pakistan army with code signs and nicknames,” a senior official told The Hindustan Times.

Citing top government sources, the report claims that a high level probe has been ordered into the incident, and the Indian crew is being questioned about the airspace violation.

Pakistan released an Indian army helicopter just hours after it strayed across the tense border between the two countries on Sunday, officials said, underscoring a desire by the old rivals to avoid any crisis as they try to improve ties.

(Read more: A most welcome gesture)

The Pakistani military had forced the Indian helicopter to land and detained four Indian army officials after it intruded into its territory in Olding sector in northern Skardu region near the border in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.

But it was released after senior military officials from both sides spoke on a hotline.

Correction: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated that the Indian helicopter crashed into Pakistani territory.

The chopper had intruded 20 Km inside Pakistani area... didn't Pak military had a right to investigate the information it might have gathered? What about those pilots who were insane enough to violate airspace.. do they also share some responsibility?...

this was not insanity, they claimed a mistake and the part of the debriefing was to verify their claim with the flight data recorder.
this is what any intruder should expect.
once it was decided that there was no deliberate violation they were set free .

Indian Media is now trying to cook up a hype for an incident that was mutually closed on good note along with gratitude from India.

but if it helps feeding the sensation and controversy hungry reader and viewer ship then so be it

The military angle of this finished within 4-5 hours of the incident when the heli landed back in India.. After that its purely eyeballs business by some yellowish channels in Indian media.. I guess we should atleast give it a rest here..
