I don't we can shoot down Brahmos missiles.

I know a lot of people will think this but yes we can. Think about it. We were tracking this missile from within inside India. For SIX MINUTES. Do you really think an HQ9 cannot get a firing solution within that time and hit a single Brahmos cruising in a straight line at 40k feet? That's kind of like the easiest possible target for it to hit. The correct way to think about this is that one some level our AD decided not to engage or was unable to decided quickly enough to engage or not. This is not a matter of capability. We are not living in the 50s.

Do anyone know if an AD by analyzing the velocity and path can take a qualified guess of what kind of plane/object/missile it is you are observing?

Sir i never questioned on professionalism of our forces even on feb 19 incident but why always we took chances and feb 19 was entirely different thing not like this please wake up and see where it landed it is not loc it is right in middle of Pakistan and near shorkot. Was our defence system in shorkot switched off or its limit is less then 30 km? And how much seconds will be needed bharamos type projectile from hit side to travl 30 km extra..?

And they let it land on our soil instead of shooting it down midair. Imagine a swarm of these heading here, what will our AD response be?

There are lots of questions left unanswered by the presser. What was India trying to achieve by just firing 1 missile (that too could be unarmed). Now some people responding that it fell down due to low fuel does not make sense. If the Indians were deliberately trying to strike something then they would have calculated distance and the fuel required.

Let me just try to understand your thinking, you are saying when India fires Nuke at us, we would wait for the missile to hit us so that we could analyze it? Whether it is actually carrying a nuclear warhead or it is disarmed?

So what if it could be equipped with nuclear warhead. Would that one missile have taken out our second strike capability ? Of course not. If your argument is to be taken at face value then every artillery shell fired from Pakistan should have a nuclear response from India and vice versa because we also have tactical nukes which can be delivered via Artillery. Pakistan should also have responded with a nukes when on 27th their planes entered Pakistani airspace because they could have also dropped nuclear gravity bombs. I mean what kind of non-sense argument are you giving. Take a step back analyze the situation & take couple of breaths and think a bit. The powers to be gave an appropriate response. This is not a street brawl where you get all emotional and call your friends to have a fist fight. It is one missile which caused no causality and probably malfunctioned so yes take a chill pill !!

I feel Pak side was waiting for this to hit someone, so we could escalate it, Since it didnot and fell on its own,... We have got a chance to do its thorough inspection..

We have shot down tons of drones and many other things btw peacetime in the past. Shooting down incoming objects when has nothing to do with safe mode esp when the AD already evaluates the type of object from its speed.

PS: So we have established AD command just to watch things? Or we waiting that something will travel from India to Pak with warheads? oh ham zara estimate and evaluate karlain damage?

Pakistan will do the same. Send a babur in peace. They will tell you kesay react karna hey peace time may.

Well at mach 3 you cant shoot down the missile !
