Good luck constructing tunnels when the Chinese can just launch artillery barrages or even the specialized bunker busting DF-16 variant against the tunnel entrances and exits. The next best thing for the Chinese would be thousands of Indians trapped underground ... their only option is to surrender or face the Chinese flamethrowers lol.
