Firing from the Indian side injured a Pakistani citizen in the Battal sector at the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday, reported Express News.

Indian and Pakistani officials held a flag meeting earlier during the day to discuss the ceasefire violations. Before the meeting, Indian chief of army staff ordered his commanders to give an “aggressive” response to any firing by Pakistani forces along the de facto border in disputed Kashmir.

Firing and small skirmishes are common along the 740km LoC despite a ceasefire that was agreed in 2003. The Indian army says eight of its soldiers were killed in 2012, in 75 incidents of ceasefire violations.

Last Sunday, a Pakistani soldier was killed in what Islamabad said was a cross-border raid mounted by the Indians. The Indian army denied any of its troops breached the control line, but said there had been an exchange of fire.

Two days later, further south along the LoC in the Mendhar district, two Indian soldiers were killed in a thick forest after what Indian officials said was a deep incursion into their territory by Pakistani forces.

On Thursday, hostilities erupted again in another part of the ceasefire line, and this time Pakistan said one of its soldiers was killed.

Well Indian army is not in business of severing human heads and passing their headless bodies as its own soldiers to win brownie points.
I am also pretty certain, Indian army ascertained the identity of dead soldier before releasing his name to the public.

As far the family of soldier is concerned, I am sure death of her son..is not a matter of amusement to his mother(as is to many Pakistanis here)..that she will go demanding proof to her son's identity.
Maybe if was't laughing matter to you guys..you would know a mother can always identify her son.

But being a Pakistani, you guys should know better, every other day, dozens of your army men are beheaded, hundred of your citizens are mutilated in bomb blasts. Does your govt go about conducting DNA analysis of the bodies before handing the remains to respective families, or do the families in Pakistan regularly sue the govt for handing over the wrong remains to the families?

Once you stop concocting conspiracy theories, perhaps you can think of a rational reason, why such a thing was done?

Why would some one not show, the mutilated remains of your family member to you? Is it possible, it was done to prevent you a life long trauma?
Once the army has determined the identity its soldier, it will acts according,to what it thinks is in the best interest of his family members.
On a personal note, could you be able to see(god forbid) and live with seeing a mangled body of a close relative, say a brother, a son, husband.. or would such a sight haunt you forever, hoping you would have never seen it?
I know it would seems an academic question on the internet, but things are not so in real life.

Yeah, too many contradicting statements are around. Even western media has started retreating! I doubt India is in position to obtain anything diplomatically! Current efforts by head of forces could be for Public to lull!
