Russia's delay of stealth frigates mirror problems with Gorshkov deal
1. You have got your facts wrong as usual. In fact you are so busy trying to prove your point, which doesn't exist, that you have forgotten that it was the Soviet Union which was a friend of India. The strategic friendship with USSR helped us weather hostilities from both China and USA. When US sent in the nuclear powered USS Enterprise into Bay of Bengal in 1971 in support of Pakistan, it was the USSR which caused the American task force to withdraw by deploying a few nuclear subs to follow the Enterprise.

2. Expecting Russia to fulfill the role of USSR is unrealistic as every one is aware that the Russian defense industry is in tatters with major industrial bases and factories going to countries now independant. The component and spares supply chain of USSR now disrupted. Moreover, the economic downturn has caused severe funding problems and large scale migration of skilled workforce.
3. The problems notwithstanding, India knows that Russia is a trustworthy friend. In Indian culture, we value our old friends even when they are passing through a bad phase.
4. Having said the above, however, India also needs to look after its security needs in an appropriate manner. That is what has made India look to the west to cover the areas which we are not able to meet with Russian assistance. India is simply looking after its national interests. It does not mean that we no longer value Russian friendship.
5. Your attempt to drive a wedge between long time friends is a non starter.
