India: Visa on arrival for UAE National's

New Delhi: With the launch of electronic visa (e-visa) facility on Thursday, tourists from 43 countries can apply for Indian visa in four simple steps.

The step is aimed at boosting tourism sector and offer hassle-free travel to foreign nationals.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, along with Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Mahesh Sharma launched the Tourist Visa on Arrival (TVOA) service enabled with electronic travel authorisation (ETA) scheme here.

Tourists from countries such as the US, the UAE, Brazil, Cambodia, Kenya, Oman, Singapore, Norway, Thailand, among others can avail this facility.

A lot of UAE locals that I know of come to India for vacations.And this is going to be a very good news to 'em.Glad that Oman is also included in the list.
For obvious reasons this will boost tourism in India, but then the other side of it is that Visa on arrival should not mean relaxing the rules in issuing visa. In short security should never be compromised in the name of tourism.

No Iam saying Indian goods are smuggled into pakistan via Dubai . We can return the favour smuggling afghans into India via Dubai.

No sir.
Pakistani citizens and Foreign Citizens of Pakistani Origin will have to apply using the Regular methods.

Both Pakistani citizens and Citizens of others nations but with Pakistani Origin are excluded:

The current e-Visa scheme will be implemented for an additional 100 nations next year(taking the total to 140+ countries by end of 2015) if the current pilot program is successful.
1. However, nationals of following countries are excluded from this program:

• Afghanistan
• Iran
• Iraq
• Nigeria
• Pakistan
• Somalia
• Sri Lanka
• Sudan

2. And Citizens of Other countries(including the West) who have Pakistani Origin are excluded from this program even where the e-Visa and Visa-On-Arrival facility has been given to their countries.

Off topic: I wonder why Iran and Sri Lanka are excluded from this list. As far as I understand, nationals of these countries have caused India no problem.
That said, this is part of GoI's effort to massively boost Tourism in India. And it should be successful.

Sir, India does not offer hunting licenses to any foreigner.
