India snubs China, to attend Nobel ceremony

i fully agree with this point.
for this particular issue, if india choose not attending it means nothing to india--the world will understand the reason and won't go cursing india, but it means a lot to china and india wants a good relation with china, no?

Yes it would have been helpful to India-China relation, but the reverse of it isn't true. Attending the ceremony is just business as usual, not a snub towards China.

1, China will be able to receive those refugees, if that there are Tibetans willing to stay in India, we do not disagree. If India has a "human rights" concerns, to establish an international observer mission to Tibet, including India's representative.

2, it is India's internal affairs, just to judge India's strategic needs, China can not do anything about this.

3, certainly has changed, at least there is a large change in confidence between the parties. But with a realistic attitude, China and India still have a border problem, which is also tricky, so all the gains bottom line is that an increased mutual trust, both the Government and people. A better attitude to solve the border issue, what is better? At least when we want to solve the border issue, no more enemies in the psychological attitude, but only in some border territory issues, which is at least beneficial.

Other things, can only say that step by step, at least not to provoke China, Pakistan and India fight, I think China has a good attitude, the future will not change.

I complete agree. Beijing I feel will definitely reciprocate consider how important sovereignty is to China.

CD/CS learn to ignore guys. heck I'm still a noob on PDF and I easily deflect unnecessary remarks.

As for Russia's absence from the ceremony, I have no issues with their official statement and frankly it has no bearing on India's decision anyway.

Just when I thought we were getting somewhere by talking this through...

You guys will have to put a leash on him if we want to finish talking about this.

Hey bud, save your insults. You and your opinion have no relevance in Indo-China relation if you're not a member of the party. There is no talking this through.

Party members are so common in China, that most people will likely have family members or friends who are members of the CCP.

There are plenty of Indians and Westerners coming over to China nowadays.

What is wrong with that?

Nothing at all. Just making the point that few people choose voluntarily to live under that system. You made a point earlier about people in HK supporting the system. Fair enough though HK, it can be argued has the best of both worlds i.e. the connection to a powerful growing economy as experienced by upward mobility without the downside of the state bearing down on you.

Can you tell me what will happen to me if I am polled by an international organization and I give a different answer?

Nothing much I guess since you are from HK but you miss my point. The perception of consequences(either imagined or real) can(and i stress on the word can) make any survey carried out in such circumstances unreliable.

Tell me what did you expect from neutral countries like Turkey, Brazil, South Africa etc. India matters as much as they matter to China. All of them yield same if not more influence to world's geo-politic as does India.

Even Russia which is an ally of China made it clear that the reason of them not attending the ceremony ISN'T controversial peace prize.

Funny you believe that. I've notice the angrier you get the more intentionally dishonest you get.

Before calling me dishonest please provide a source which proves me so.

Don't be daft. Read the bolded quote. I'm sure even you can understand that Russia's excuse is an attempt to be polite while still making the political point.

BBC News - Nobel peace prize: Who is boycotting the ceremony?

From the source you quoted.

Who's acting all daft now?

Dude just proving my integrity that has been questioned by our esteemed Chinese friend.

Fair enough if that is your opinion, I would personally say though (given the fact that I spend a lot of time in the mainland, and have many mainland friends) that the perceptions of retaliation over an anonymous international poll are nearly non-existent.

Also, Cardsharp is from Beijing so you can ask him directly and I'm sure he'll give the same answer.

I agree that this is a trivial matter, not worth mentioning, even if India go, Chinese members may be just a little disappointed. Although I think anything needs to accumulate the small things, including trust and goodwill.
