India’s Subversive Role in Afghanistan

By Sajjad Shaukat

During his trip to India and Kabul in June, this year, by reviving old blame game, US Defence Secretary of State, Leon Panetta repeatedly stated that drone attacks would continue on safe havens of terrorists in Pakistan, while accusing the Haqqani network for some of the deadliest attacks in Afghanistan.

On the other side, Leon Panetta encouraged India to take a more active role in Afghanistan as most foreign combat troops leave in 2014. India which has already invested billion of dollars in Afghanistan, signed a wide-ranging strategic agreement with that country on october 5, 2011 also includes to help train Afghan security forces.

Crappy links never work! They are a load of bull. So don't even bother reading that baloney! I've got better things to do, like hitting the bar for some chilled beer!

Cheers!

^^^ may be it's a new stealth technology.....

but nice work by India, it does not keep proof of any wrongdoings behind :D

at times one gets surprised at what the Indians are trying to do in Afghanistan.

They tried to reduce Pakistan's influence in Afghanistan and failed miserably. Afghans watching Indian women dancing in Indian movies is one thing and reducing Pakistan's influence is altogether different thing.

They built Chahbahar and connected it to Afghanistan by constructing Zaranj - Dilaram. No trade is taking place through it and none will even after US completely abandons Afghanistan due to natural acrimony between Pushto speaking Afghans and Iran.

The funniest thing they did was to fund construction of Salma Dam, which controls flow of water of an important river that irrigates large areas of Iran. This got Iran angry and the Indians have stopped further funding for the project. Afghan contractors have almost given up providing material for this construction.

Lage raho munna bhai. Khoda pahar nikla chooha :)

Why is then Pakistan so scared about Indian involvement in Pakistan.

Instead of helping Afghanistan, Indians are supporting terrorism in Pakistan through their consulates along our border. It is not a matter of being scared, it is being double faced - claiming to support Afghanistan while spreading terror in Pakistan.

Does the Afghan govt support this claim?

Pakistan government has not convinced one single country on earth with regards to this claim.
Frankly, India doesn't not even have the capacity to spread trouble in Pakistan.
And finally, Pakistan's biggest problem is TTP and to suggest that India is supporting TTP is like saying Pakistan is supporting Akhand Bharat.
Why would Afghan govt claim it, moron? It has an Indian lollipop in it's mouth.

Pakistan doesn't have to convince any one, it happens by default. The geo-political position and strength of Pakistan becomes a compulsion for others to listen to Pakistan.
