A key player in this drama will be Asia’s regional super-power India. Last year, India led a group of Non-Aligned Movement nations in opposing the resolution against Sri Lanka and the resolution was defeated.

The analysts believe that India is remaining silent or non-committal on the alleged war crimes issue because it wants to give Sri Lanka time to fully implement the 13th amendment. In other words India is using it as a bargaining chip. If Sri Lanka meets the grievances and aspirations of the Tamil people, then India might help it overcome the crisis in the Human Rights Council. Otherwise India might join the West in trying to haul Lankan leaders on alleged war crimes trials.

You may be overestimating how important India is to Sri Lanka. The support of China is enough to help Sri Lanka develop. While Indian help would be welcome for Sri Lanka, it is not critical. Also as time passes, Sri Lanka would be able to develop deeper ties with other fast growing Asian economies such as Indonesia etc.

Ur flags say, you are neither a srilankan nor an Indian. Why are you bothered so much about the social security of Srilankans? I believe bangladesh itself has 1000+1 problems ( mostly those rants about how India destroying B`desh ).Lets talk about those issues ,offcourse in a different thread that is meant for them.

Secondly We gave 2 Mi-17's & a number of 2-D & 3-D radars during the War.It's there in Wikileaks.

And If india had supplied weapons to LTTE, NO country -China or even aliens could have helped Sri Lanka....because..the fact is China 3000 kms from Sri Lanka...and India is just 20 km from Srilanka(North-East Srilanka)..we could have armed Tamils to teeth..Srilanka gov knows that and therefore thankful to us ,..unlike some internet warriors here......
