Thinking to uproot the Taliban from Afghanistan is a pipe dream. First, we have to get out of this thinking that we can succeed in what the Soviets and the Americans had failed. We need to to make allies within the Taliban, bribe the war lords to keep the anti-Indian and Pro-Pak element divided. Not for a second, I wish Indians to give the impression that we want to introduce secular, liberal regime in Kabul to rule Afghanistan. This won't take seconds to unite the tribal overlords and pointing sharp shooters against Indians from every hilltop and blast IEDs beneath our convoys. So, no. We can not win this game with numbers, but Machiavellian wit.

We are very clear in our minds what we are there for.

It is their country. Their rules apply.

It's the decision of Afghanistan government ,if taken ..Pakistan should not interfere in the internal affairs of Afghanistan ..we already paying too much for that

The afghans who come here are vwtted through a process..i am in a college which is not even in Top 10 of my city, forget about country and still it had 7 afghans..6 of them are very good in studies while 1 is charsi..so yes our vetting process is good.

We need to take a step back and look at the big picture first.

Your good Pak is a big bone stuck in the throats of many of your brotherlys and of course a couple of hostiles... indians just luuuuuv Pak to death!

First and far most Truth that your countrymen, Paks, need to accept that there is NO such thing as a muslim world. There are muslim countries. But no world. Too much mess, corruption, backwardness and lack of economic development.

Now why Iran would allow/help indians?

Simple. If Pak can become a middle income country, that is 10.000 per capita GDP, then Iran will be stuck in the vice of Turkey, GCC and your beautiful Pak. All of Iran's ambitions will be squashed. Same goes for GCC... they like a dependent Pak elite. Why would they want another competitor?

For indian empire Kashmir has boxed it, both morally and geopolitically. Without consolidation of Kashmir, Sikkim and South Tibet are not secured at all by the indian empire. Their brovados aside...

A strong and prosperous Pak also creates a existential problem for indians from within i.e. their 250 mln muslim minority. What will this 250 mln minority feel when they see Pak being a success story and their own lives in the ghetto???

Ghetto Blues can be nasty for indians...

So if india can squeez Pak from the West it percieves to solve its misery in the East.

And of course, there is a minor detail of a few Trillions worth of good stuff in the hellhole of AF.

The big boys who have put Mr. Modi in power want their ROIs tenfold. Also, indians think they can employ their terror factories for the benefit of China as well just like they have done for Pak. Remember Xinjiang.

Golden opportunity to be great power for indians...

Of why the US would like indians to be on the ground goes without saying.


You know what is most painful in all this mess.... loss of lives, stolen heritage and stolen future of Pak People... by their own elite...in uniform and in civilian robes... Pak could have been a middle income country long time ago!

As I have said before...anything less than 150.000 troops is not going to cut mustard for our great indians.

Diplomatic reports reaching here say that the Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is planning to rush to Afghanistan in an attempt to cash on the latest wave of terrorist attacks and make an official offer of sending Indian troops to defend Afghan Government leaders.

A reliable report also claimed that Mr. Ajit Doval had recently met with Afghan National Security Advisor Hanif Atmar in Russia a few days earlier and had asked Afghan government to deliver an official invitation to the Indian Government to dispatch Indian troops.

Reports reaching here from Kabul say that Afghanistan’s pro-Indian lobby had been trying to exploit the blast for its own gains and objectives and has increased anti-Pakistan propaganda despite the fact that Pakistanis had also become victims of Kabul blast.

Afghan Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid has strongly denied any involvement in the attack and said that Taliban leadership had issued instructions against targeting any civilian or civilian facilities. Afghan Talibans says it could be a conspiracy to pave the way for more foreign troops in Afghanistan.

Despite strong condemnation from Pakistan the pro-India Afghan leaders and lobbies including former Afghan intelligence chief Saleh Amrullah have started a campaign against Pakistan. On May 28, 2017, just two day before the Wednesday Kabul attack the Afghan Pajhwok news agency had reported that India could send its troops to Afghanistan under “UN mission”. The Pajhwok dispatch from Washington which was published in the Outlook Afghanistan had quoted a “prominent Indian defense expert” told a Washington audience on May 18, 2017 that “New Delhi could perhaps be persuaded to send up to a division of Indian troops – around 15,000 — to Afghanistan under a United Nations Peacekeeping mission.”

“If invited, if there is a UN peacekeeping force … it is my considered view that perhaps India could be persuaded to send up to a division, provided the logistics are in place, provided Pakistan’s so-called sensibilities can be put in place,” Brig® Gurmeet Kanwal, from the Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis was quoted as telling audience in a close-door round table at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars.

Gurmeet Kanwal, who is known for his close links with Indian military establishment visited Washington DC and tried to convince President Donald Trump Administration to allocate India an official role in Afghanistan.

Presence of Indian forces in Afghanistan is not an Afghan matter only. With Indian soldiers on the western side of Pakistan, Pakistan has even more reasons to be involved in Afghan affairs.
