India overreacts to diplomat's arrest

It was a valid point, if Indians cannot defend their own parliament in the heart of its capital. How secure is the US embassy? I think we should close our embassy in India and recall all US nationals.

Please take Rahul Baba & Sonia Madam as well.....:D

Lol,what an attitude: Ignore the law because India says so !! The US is a democracy, according to diplomatic immunity law the indian attache doesn't have full imunity.

Geez, what an arogant and sickening attitude...hope they won't release her just to spite you.:pop:

This is not about local laws of USA, This is diplomacy and the rules here are entirely different ...... Hope you got this point.

India can also frame charges on USA's citizen and we can also lecture about our Judicial system.

India has nothing to do that not we will care in this case, USA just sneaked into India and shifted the maids family. USA is no saint in this case.

I think that's a conspiracy theory, they are just being protected.
You do realise that the prosecutor was probably building the case for a while ? It's called witness protection.

I'm pretty sure that the american administration would love for the whole affair to go away as they have nothing to gain,on the contrary, but it's out of their hands.

Witness protection by shifting the family from India

This is clear cut conspiracy to frame an Indian diplomat as a criminal and humiliate India by the USA.

USA is should be aware that it cannot loose an ally in the form of India in Asia.

The issue will not be over until the diplomat walks free. GOI is looking at various options.

I guess you could say that. But at the same time why should India extend privileges that it extends to no other nation

Because the US embassy is the primary target for terrorist all over the world. Barricades prevent direct access for explosive laden trucks and is the first line of defense against such attacks.

As i've said in my "edit" i'm sure the administration would love for the whole affair to go away but they can't do nothing. It's out of their hands, they can't mess with the legal system.

Well If the USG feels their staff are at risk they can pull them out of India- can't they?

But even now the US embassy in Delhi has a perimeter wall that will repel any such attacks. Even still such truck bombing attacks whilst common in the region are EXTREMELY rare- if not unheard of in India.

Diplomat Arrest ------> Removing Barricades -------> Indian Parliament --------> 9/11 ---------> Al Qaeda ---------> Osama --------> Threat to US Embassy ????

Man Where are we going????

Thread started on Indian Overreaction is getting shadowed with American Overreaction.....

As I said earlier there are exchange of prisoners irrespective of local laws between countries and I think this way works well in this case.

As a diplomat, she has some special privilages.. I think you legal system cannot mess with those privileges.. Maximum you can do is send her back to India..

Wrong. Her immunity level allowed the US authorities to arrest her.

The perimeter wall does not stand a chance. The use of explosives by terrorist in India isn't as rare as you think.

if barricade removal was overreaction wait for the ID's taken to be scrapped .

and cases according Indian law to be made.

A lot of bargaining chips will be made if required.
