Tell you honestly. A lot of Pakistanis don't want their money either. Go talk to the politicians who fill their pockets with this money. I agree with you, the problem is there is a marked difference of perception in the Politicians way of thinking and the general public.
Still I can't understand the reasons why the general mood of the people is against aid from India, believe me as a general person if any aid comes from Pakistan I would be happy, in spite of the fact all that terrorism talks.

Because it is a general perception among common man that India is basically behind 99% of the terrorism that has taken place in Pakistan. A common Pakistani believes this trust me.

Also trust me that we are not a poor country. We are victims of extreme level of corruption. Look in good old days politicians use to loot from the national treasure during their tenure. This use to happen in Pak till 2008. Now the corruption has taken a new dimension in Pakistan in PPP era. Our leaders are creating more and more poor. They are going abroad and begging for aid. Then the aid is transferred to their Swiss accounts. Our leaders stay in hotels worth 2400 $ per night. How are we poor?
We use to get Aid during Musharraf’s time. But atleast the economy was good. We built gawadar, Karachi witnessed enormous development. Average man was happy but politicians were not.
Taxes have been increased poor has become more poor. All utility charges have been increased, Middle class is shrinking, Interest rates have sky rocketed, Pak rupee is devalued from 60 to 80 in 2-3 months time after Mushraff’s resignation and all this benefits them. Because the WB and IMF reports on poverty in Pak helps them get the Aid easily.

But to tell you honestly on ground the poverty is level is quiet low in urban areas. It might be more in rural areas but simple reforms can change the picture of this country.

Our government is making it harder and harder for us. Imagine a country where your own government wants to create poor’s so they can beg for aid. The most corrupt man of Pakistan is now the President.

NEW DELHI: As Pakistan's hapless millions prepare for another flood surge, India finally stepped up to the table. Foreign ministerS M Krishna called up his counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday to offer aid of $5 million for the flood hit in Pakistan.

India's offer of aid has taken its time, and comes after UN secretary general Ban-ki Moon put out a global appeal for over $450 million in flood relief for Pakistan. Considering India is invariably one of the first to rush emergency aid to countries in the neighbourhood, its hesitation in announcing relief in this instance was baffling to say the least.

The MEA, normally quite good with rolling out aid diplomacy, was unusually reticent. The rest of the world, apart from the US, has not been overly generous either.

During Pakistan's massive earthquake in October 2005, India sent three consignments of relief material like blankets, medicines etc. For the first time ever, IAF planes landed in Islamabad to deliver relief material. But afterwards, officials reported that Pakistani authorities had ripped off ‘made in India' labels from relief material before distributing them, because it was easier to believe that India had not helped out during the earthquake. India had made a cash contribution to Pakistan's relief efforts, but Pakistan never used it, which led to a feeling of rejection in the Indian side.

Leaders staying in expensive hotels is no measure of wealth or poverty..

The aid is not for the poor but for the suffering..

I never said Pakistan is a poor country, it is rich Historically.

As far as economical condition is concerned, you know the truth.

The majority live in rural areas, if they are poor then country is poor, no one sees Defense colony or Clifton Road to make data..

India responsible for 99% of problems..

I appreciate your honesty.Times may be hard and difficult for you and I understand that.But we must understand that the participation of common people is necessary for a successful government.But those common people cannot take each and every decisions for the country.Thats why we choose representatives.If a king size of the aid money is going into the pockets of the politicians and Pakistan doesnt even need that money,then something is seriously wrong with the democratic process and people must raise their voice.

However,the economic policies of the country are not determined by common masses.They are done by the economists.You are claiming that Pakistan does not U.S. aid.But even a few months back, a news was in circulation that Pakistan did not even have the money to pay the government servants,and situation has not changed much ever since.If this be the case,then,well whether common people like it or not,the reality is,you need foreign aid.
