India must apologize to Sri Lanka

We fought against LTTE for 3 yrs ..sacrificed hundreds of our soldiers and a prime minister for Sri Lankan cause..gave million of dollars of financial and military aid to Srilanka..that should be sufficient.

Nothing on Aid, only loans & almost no military aid

We lost thousands of lives, including citizens + Army Soldiers + Tamil Tigers = All are Sri Lankans :(

If a country starts a war against its own citizens in the name of discrimination, the loss is to that country. You can't complain about anyone here.

The right things to do now is to come forward and apologize to the people it discriminated and include them in the growth path. Do you/your government have the guts to do that?

It was your war ..wasn't it ?..but we helped you win it ..we even sent our soldiers to fight along side you...that was the reason our prime minister was blown up by LTTE.

SL Army has Tamil officers, but it's few! Just give bit time to get the number higher!

That's called inequality and thanks for accepting that. When your "bit time " comes and if the numbers rise in proportion of the population, then Equality will prevail.

And of course I will be glad, if you can name those few Tamil officers and their designation.

Thing that you don't understand is activities of Tamil tiger terrorists organization, that's why you say such things here. A government responsibility to protect all citizens from these kind of groups, In 88/89 Sinhala extremist group called JVP spread violence, They got the same result.

just jail some more fishermen who come into our water, give them good treatment in tihar jail, that will be a good apology for the sri lankans......
Ontopic:-waiting for sri lankan president to send a letter to PM asking for apology:lol:

NEW DELHI: Even as it publicly refused to give Sri Lanka any offensive weapons for the war against LTTE, India had a "hidden hand" in the success of the island nation's campaign over the terrorist outfit, says a new book.

Although in the initial days he was advised to seek a negotiated settlement with the Tamil Tigers, New Delhi saw merit in Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse's argument that the LTTE was only biding its time to regroup and rearm itself and that war was inevitable sooner than later, says 'Sri Lanka, From War to Peace', by journalist Nitin Gokhale.
The Mi-17s that India 'quietly gifted' to Lanka were in addition to a Sukanya class offshore patrol vessel also gifted by the Indian Coast Guard to the Sri Lankan Navy in 2002. The choppers played a major role in several daring missions launched by the Sri Lankan Air Force to rescue the army's deep penetration units and injured soldiers from deep inside LTTE-held territory, the book says.

Sri Lankan Navy is all set to return back the Indian Coast Guard Ship, ICGS Vigraha, back to India, which it had hired in 2007, by the end of this month. Colombo had leased three offshore patrol vessels (OPV) from India, one of which it eventually bought. All three ships belonged to the Indian Coast Guard.

ICGS Vigraha was called SLNS Sayurala after it was commissioned into the Sri Lankan Navy in 2009, and will get back her original name after she joins the Indian Coast Guard.
