India has NEVER been a unified entity.

The difference is that China as a nation has existed for thousands of years. The borders have not always been the same of course, but the nation existed.

Whereas the concept of India is a relatively new one, named after the Indus River which existed in British India, not in modern India. Today, the Indus River flows almost entirely through Pakistan.

Yet the British Empire named many different people across the planet with the name Indus, not only Indians, but Red Indians, West Indians etc. that also existed within the British Empire.

Have you ever know there is something called history, and something call rape!ing history. You are doing the second one...

Much before british came , There was a person named Ariyan, he wrote a book name Indica.. Even Meghasthanese refer this sub-continent as India.. What kind of illiterate ppl are here. When Hu-en-tsang came Nalanda India was very much there...

The Dutch, English and other european were looking for India (other route than cape of good hope.), They found America and thought it as India, and start calling those native american as red-Indian..

I am surprised by the illogic and nonsense of some members..

People of our region named our land, Pakistan. You on the other hand, are named by the British, yet I see butt hurt Indians, trying to insult China, by accusing it to be named by the British, yet ignoring to see the fact, Indians are a creation of the British from head to toe. This just shows how much jealous you people are of others. Inferiority complex much?

This is before Islam was born, Before Jesus was born and Before Britain was born

Megasthenes[pronunciation?] (Μεγασθένης, ca. 350 – 290 BCE) was a Greek ethnographer and explorer in the Hellenistic period, author of the work Indica. He was born in Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey) and became an ambassador of Seleucus I of the Seleucid dynasty possibly to Chandragupta Maurya in Pataliputra, India. However the exact date of his embassy is uncertain. Scholars place it before 298 BC, the date of Chandragupta's death.

Indica is the name of an ancient book about India written by Arrian, one of the main ancient historians of Alexander the Great. The book mainly tells the story of Alexander's officerNearchus’ voyage from India to the Persian Gulf after Alexander the Great’s conquest of the Indus Valley. However, much of the importance of the work comes from Arrian’s in depth asides describing the history, geography, and culture of the ancient Indian subcontinent. Arrian wrote his Indica in the Ionic dialect, taking Herodotus for his literary mode.

Some descriptions about Indian people from the Indica:

  • "the southern Indians resemble the Ethiopians a good deal, and, are black of countenance, and their hair black also, only they are not as snub-nosed or so woolly-haired as the Ethiopians; but the northern Indians are most like the Egyptians in appearance."
  • "No Indian ever went outside his own country on a warlike expedition, so righteous were they."
  • "Indians do not put up memorials to the dead; but they regard their virtues as sufficient memorials for the departed, and the songs which they sing at their funerals."
  • "This also is remarkable in India, that all Indians are free, and no Indian at all is a slave. In this the Indians agree with the Lacedaemonians. Yet the Lacedaemonians haveHelots for slaves, who perform the duties of slaves; but the Indians have no slaves at all, much less is any Indian a slave."
  • "The Indians generally are divided into seven castes, the wise men, farmers, herdsmen, artisans, soldiers and shopkeepers, overlookers, and government officials and ministers."
  • "The Indians in shape are thin and tall and much lighter in movement than the rest of mankind."

Pakistani Punjab and Sindh have always been part of the Indian empires or countries of almost the entire times.

Sind/Sindh/Sindhu is where your religion, name, culture, etc came from. Historically Sind, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir, Eastern parts of Afghanistan, Western parts of Gujarat & Rajashan were linked to one civilization, the Great Sindhu Civilization or in English The Indus Valley Civilization.

And frankly it is the only land worth any effort in your country.

By indian logic? Every inch of our land Pakistan is worthy.

Just because the inhabitants of those regions became Muslims does not mean that history can be changed. They have always been a part of Bharat.

The correct thing to say is Sind/Sindh/Sindhu is mother of Bharat & almost entire South Asia/Subcontinent.

II. But the parts from the Indus eastward, these I shall call India, and its inhabitants Indians. The boundary of the land of India towards the north is Mount Taurus. It is not still called Taurus in this land; but Taurus begins from the sea over against Pamphylia and Lycia and Cilicia; and reaches as far as the Eastern Ocean, running right across Asia. But the mountain has different names in different places; in one, Parapamisus, in another Hemodus; elsewhere it is called Imaon, and perhaps has all sorts of other names; but the Macedonians who fought with Alexander called it Caucasus; another Caucasus, that is, not the Scythian; so that the story ran that Alexander came even to the far side of the Caucasus. The western part of India is bounded by the river Indus right down to the ocean, where the river runs out by two mouths, not joined together as are the five mouths of the Ister; but like those of the Nile, by which the Egyptian delta is formed; thus also the Indian delta is formed by the river Indus, not less than the Egyptian; and this in the Indian tongue is called Pattala. Towards the south this ocean bounds the land of India, and eastward the sea itself is the boundary. The southern part near Pattala and the mouths of the Indus were surveyed by Alexander and Macedonians, and many Greeks; as for the eastern part, Alexander did not traverse this beyond the river Hyphasis. A few historians have described the parts which are this side of the Ganges and where are the mouths of the Ganges and the city of Palimbothra, the greatest Indian city on the Ganges.

So son of Pakistan and China, It was not Brits who gave the name India.. It is been called many year before Brits came...

Greeks name anything east of Indus Indika. British named West Indies, Red Indians, Indonesians after our river Indus. lol

We are the original Indians, not the one in America or Indonesia. :big_boss:

Sorry but migrating from inner India theory is proved wrong by genetic tests. Brahui have lowest amount of 12% ASI genes out of any South Asian ethnic group, apart from Indian punjabis rest of Indians have 55-80% of ASI genes in them.

Liar I have seen that spreadsheet . Except for south Indians , no other people have majority asi . And existence of a Dravidian language in pakistan indicates that either IVC was a dravidian civilization or the brahui migrated from south of India .

Have some shame lol. It start from China and runs 5% of it though "Indian occupied Kashmir", rest of it in Pakistan, no one calls it your river. China have more claim on it then you.
