What's new

India Developing, but still a long way to go

Delhi signature bridge looks overrated in front of this, good work Hyadrabad authorities.

Finally things are moving on the ground -

Since l&t is India's leading infrastructure company, this is a excellent step for the HSR project. L&t will get the job done come what may and with good quality and on time.

A video everyone should see.
Our popular media is so useless that no one has any idea about such a gigantic project , completed in record time .

Bullet train order to l&t formally signed.
4 years for completion.
Best thing that could have happened to this project. L&t lends a seriousness which was lacking till now.
The only stumbling block is the maharashtra section with the shivsena government opposing the project.
Luckily this award of 250 km is not effected as its sll in Gujarat.

Surat is doing excellent town planning.

From 1998 to 2018, slum population in Surat went down from 20% to 6.8%.

This even as its population increased from 24lakh to 65lakh in the same period.

Now Surant becomes first city in country to finalise 393 residential flats of size 31 sqm each ie 1-BHK in Sachin Area as Affordable Rental Housing Complex (ARHC) for the migrant labour.

Good to see this. I don't understand why anyone has to stay in slums when govt can easily build flats for them and place them there. Cheap housing should be in the middle of town/city so they can move around for jobs(working class), since they can ill afford to travel long distances.

India urgently needs manufacturing so such labour could find productive work outside current cities. That's the best option India have in dealing with slums.

Airport Authority of India (AAI) poked its nose on this one also, it was supposed to be 442 metres tall but AAI capped it at 285 metres.

But still this looks beautiful 😍
Wonder what will Mumbai look like by 2030.
Hope that BMC and AAI becomes generous on sky scrapers 🤞.
This one is also a good shot!

A friend of mine said that the smell in Mumbai is quite bad, would you say that this has been largely dealt with over the past few years?

If your friend lives in Dharavi then its his problem coz Mumbai is overcrowded. Thats why so many skyscrapers and high rise buildings are present and many more upcoming.

By the way does Karachi smell like roses?

It most definitely does not

This doesn't need to be a contest, it's a basic inquiry. Idk which part of the city he visited.

India big problem is pollution. poor air quality and population..

Europe has the best air quality in the world even better than usa imo..

Europe is also the cleanest continent overall with so many different cultures in and ,relatively wealthy compared to the.rest of the world.. and the best looking people as well .

this is,why every body wants to emigrate to Europe from Asia and Africa in particular. it's civilised and clean

The only big problem left in Mumbai is Dharavi.
Take a look at world’s largest slum.
But by god’s grace it will be redeveloped and it won’t be impossible like see this, this is the redevelopment work of Bhendi Bazaar semi slums By a respected Indian NGO.

Problem is poor people migrating to destroy clean cities, for a few weeks my locality in New Delhi was very clean then a few people started living on the footpaths and made them ugly again.
