According to the CIA World Factbook, China has 2.8% of the population under the poverty line. The World Bank gives a more realistic estimate at around 4%.

You indians are the ones claiming superpower and success in GDP but still you have more poor people in India living below the poverty line than the total populations of Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal all combined.

Well for a country of 1 billion people India is trying it's best....There are more schemes and budgets allocated for poverty alleviation is higheer than the budget of many other countries.

When was the last survey taken by Pakistan for HDI? Population for India is larger but percentage wise we both stand in the same place. Last year 15 million families were allievated. This will go on if we maintain the current growth rate.

Of course we have success in GDP than all other countries listed here. We have one of the fastest growing economy in the world.

We also have GDP 4/5 times more than that of the countries. These countries still depend on foreign aid and assistance for their developments. Quota is also there!!!
