Both China and India have "No First Use" policies. So there is no risk of a nuclear war, since neither side can use nuclear weapons first.

Which is lucky for India, since their entire nuclear arsenal has been estimated at only around 1 megaton total. Comprised mostly of 20kt fission devices.

Whereas one SINGLE Chinese thermonuclear warhead is around 4 megatons each. One single Chinese nuke has more explosive power than the entire Indian arsenal combined.

But since we both have No First Use policies, that won't come into play. We don't need it anyway, New Delhi is only 300 km from the border, well within range of even our conventional rocket artillery.

We have the world's largest manufacturing base, we can pump out infinite numbers of cheap rocket artillery, and hit the Indian capital without even having to leave our own borders. We can simply sit at the top of the Tibetan plateau, an unbeatable defensive advantage, while we rain endless rockets on your capital.

That is the advantage that led the Indian Army to say they "cannot hope to match China by conventional or non- conventional means".

In 1962 IA was just a rag tag army having WW2 equipment and some of minor forward posts .They dont have any weapons but China had latest model AK series and others .Thanks to our non violent PM they dont have any good training at all.
Then things changed .
US is the top class force in world because they are in modern warfare for last 14 years in different parts of the world .
Our only problem was lacking of technology thanks to the modernization we are going to high tech Armed Forces .
Our Armed Forces encountered with 35 different types of insurgencies and 3 main wars after 1962 one was full fledged in 1971 and lot of skirmish.Except beating monks we couldnt see such .a track record from China till now .

India needs to develop, to get much, much stronger to a be factor in the big scheme of things. You know that, U.S., Japan know that, and China knows that too. You need us more than we need you, hope that is also clear "in Modi's term".

And @Chinese-Dragon the Indian nuclear arsenal is most certainly not a total of 1MT TNT equivalent. It's been categorically stated that India has 200kT nuclear warheads. Unless you believe we only have a few of those, then you're being very foolhardy with many hundreds of millions of your countrymens lives.

And rocket artillery doesn't win you wars CD. Using rocket artillery on civilian populated cities is the kind of shit that gets your leaders in war crimes courts. The Tibetan plateau is also a disadvantage for PLAAF aircraft, lower air density = long turnaround time and MTOW.
