India Asks US Not to Give USD 860 Million Aid to Pakistan

.
@AgNoStiC MuSliM sir my concluding post, LoC is silent on Siachem. Thus India technically knock out Pakistan. Its better Pakistan accept AGPL and help the demilitrization.

. .
Mere asking the U.S won't do anything. India has to fill the pockets of the lobbyists in Washington and get them to work on it.

No, it is better that India is not rewarded for her unprovoked military aggression in Siachen, in violation of the Simla Agreement, and the Pakistani proposal to demilitirize without AGPL verification and a return to the original status prior to 1984 take place.

Where's the violation of UN Charter and Simla Agreement sir?

Have you read the text of the Shimla accord? your futile Kargil adventure has made what you said a joke

Sir i read it again and again and found that:

i. India was supposed to settle the differences through peaceful means. But Siachen wasn't matter of difference in the first place.

ii. India was supposed to respect the line of control. But this line was non existent in the Siachen area. So no violation of LoC proved.

This is like 'come first take first'. From 1971 to 1984 no one thought to draw the LoC further upward. What else could've happened?

It was absolutely 'a matter of difference' since the concept of 'oro-politics' and 'cartographic aggression by Pakistan' were and are used as justification for Indian patrols in the region leading into the full fledged military aggression by India. Therefore India blatantly violated relevant parts of the Simla Agreement

I suppose there was lack of communication that took things to that level.

Lack of communication does not justify a complete absence of Indian efforts to take their concerns about 'Pakistani cartographic aggression' to arbitration. The deployment of military forces in inhospitable territory (where no conflict had occurred previously) with the specific intent to 'capture and hold' territory points to a calculated Indian decision to force the issue in their favor by use of military force.

Pakistan has made plenty of mistakes elsewhere - you need to stop making excuses for blatant and unprovoked Indian military aggression in Siachen in 1984, that was the root-cause for the casualties and environmental and financial costs on both sides. The Pakistani proposal to return the situation to the original status prior to the 1984 Indian military action is the only feasible and acceptable proposal that does not reward unprovoked military aggression and restores the spirit of the Simla Agreement violated by said Indian military aggression.

indian govt. doing what i'd expect them to do, nothing abnormal.....just as non-abnormal as our reaction which is basically "mind your own God damned business and scram"

India today asked the US not to give USD 860 million aid including USD 265 million for military hardware to Pakistan, saying all such aids go directly into anti India activities.

“Our position on this has been made clear on a number of occasions. We believe that all such aids actually go directly into activities directed against India. It should not be given,” External Affairs Minister Spokesperson Vikas Swarup said when asked about the proposed US aid of USD 860 million.

Earlier this week, the Obama administration proposed USD 860 million in aid for Pakistan, including USD 265 million for military hardware, which it said would help the country fight terrorists, secure nuclear weapons and improve ties with India.

While there was no mention of Pakistan in President Barack Obama’s budgetary proposals, Secretary of State John Kerry in his proposals said the budget includes USD 859.8 million towards sustaining ties with Pakistan and making progress to “disrupt, dismantle and defeat violent extremist groups”.

“The requested funding will support the country’s counter- insurgency missions, and bolster stability, energy access, economic growth, and social reform,” Kerry said in a letter accompanying his proposals on February 9.
This unhealthy obsession needs to stop. From JF-17s for Sri-lanka, to F-16 drama; and now this.

Whether the melon falls on the knife or the knife falls on the melon, it's the melon that suffers. You may find that water of Indus river is no more drinkable and fish are dying. Or avalanche are happening in a row. Find a graceful solution its good for us.
