I'm sure the designers would have made the best decision. All this stuff is COTS anyway.

There are a lot of PowerPC based mil-spec chips, and very few chips with this MIPS core,
so there are certainly arguments in favour of the PowerPC, but beeing the best CPU core for the
job is not one of them.
