In Naval War With China, India Would Be No Pushover

China's new assembly hub for the nuclear submarine, and the completion was done since last year.

I would say that 3 Type 95 SSNs would come into service every year betwen 2020-2030. China needs to have a SSN force comparable to US by 2030.

PLAN's areas of focus would be the Pacific and Indian oceans initially.

China may soon double its SSBN/SSN fleet, and it may add another 10-12 nuclear subs in the next 3 years.

I can see 4 Type 95 SSN and 1 Type 96 SSBN coming out every year from 2020 in that case.
A force of 40-45 Type 95 SSNs and 12-14 Type 96 SSBN is enough to ensure parity with USN.

PLAN really does not need 10-11 nuclear supercarriers as it does not intend to travel all the way to West Africa and Central America to bully tiny defenceless countries. Fleet of 6-8 mixed convential/nuclear carriers would suffice when backed up by AShBMs

Indeed, China will start to build a semi-submersible type of arsenal warship that equips with the direct energy weapons from 2030 onward.

This specific warship will be equipped with some 1000+ km railgun.

Its backed up by a loaned PAF SQD.

Not unless you want karachi harbor to get lit up like in 1971

Chinese subs are way behind US in operational capability and technology
You do not win wars with ballistic missiles. Let alone AShBMs. It is unproven weapon.

Not when we have over 13 AIP subs and 5 coastal subs on patrol... along with surface and air assets not 2 forget long ranged ASHMs in place.. apart from havin other ports to choke ur oil supplies..

U should be more worried about our subs lightin up bombay with Babur SLCMs.

sorry... but india hasn;t got a stretch to manage anything large in south china sea... their home turf.
on the other hand.... china can bring the game to your home turf aka indian ocean

Malacca straits would be the graveyard of Chinese navy in case of any war with India.

They know fully well what's awaiting them at the straits, hence their hesitation.

In fact Malacca straits is the thorn in Chinese side which they are desperately trying to get around, hence this CPEC, OROB etc.

BUT, India will ensure that the Chinese are bogged down in the straits.

who said it;s surface fleet they'll be sending....

idk mate with the games you two countries are playing... and the rising visits of chinese subs over indian ocean and surrounding coutnries... it should be a concern for you guys to maintain a stronghold in indian ocean than trying to take the fight to them..... those days are long gone.....

You understand if your strategy is based on a very specific location then you are in fact telling everyone exactly where your assets will be.

However, our Djibouti base can accommodate 10,000 men. Pakistani ports is also in the process of being upgraded. That is only the beginning, there will one day be a fleet based just in IO.

Do I think geography will play a part? Certainly, but more so that Indian ocean is next to India and hence you can bring more non naval assets to the mix. China is not so strong and neither is India that weak that this can be discounted.

Though that is quickly changing. It is likely China will have at least a prototype fifth gen carrier fighter, before India has a fifth gen fighter at all. Now obviously i can't see the future, so we will see. Though at this point I wouldn't bet against China, as every estimation i made turned out to be too conservative.

0 what? No Chinese ship has ever gotten pass the strait? Or no Chinese ship can ever get pass the strait in war?
