A state of denial
Conspiracy theories abound in Pakistan

Not everyone is a fool that is spoon-fed propaganda. There must be solid evidence, otherwise no rational person can take this claim seriously.

I hope this doesn't devolve into another OBL is alive thread.

Wouldn't you agree that the presence of his wives, their own testimony that they were living with OBL at the compound, the wreckage of the helicopter, the blood, the reports from Pakistan as well as the USA, all point to...

OBL was in the compound and killed by Navy Seals.

The wives themselves confirmed the story. Are they lying?

I'm not one to care for OBL, but who are these mystery wives?

One last thing - if OBL was still alive after the raid, the very first thing he would do is make a video of himself with the headlines from the paper that day, laughing at everybody and proving the USA is a pack of liars.

BOSTON -- The death of a sister of Osama bin Laden at Massachusetts General Hospital allowed the United States to confirm bin Laden's death, ABC News reported.
When his sister died in Boston, tissue from her body was taken by government officials for DNA testing, ABC News correspondent Brian Ross reported.
A source told NewsCenter 5 that bin Laden's sister died in Boston about a year ago.
The tissue sample was used to match the DNA found on the man killed by special forces troops who conducted the raid on bin Laden's Pakistani compound.
Government officials claimed the DNA evidence provides a match with 99.9 percent confidence.
The officials did not immediately say where or how the testing was done but the test explains why President Barack Obama was confident to announce the death to the world Sunday night. Obama provided no details on the identification process.
The U.S. is believed to have collected DNA samples from bin Laden family members in the years since the 9/11 attacks that triggered the U.S.-led invasion of Afghanistan. It was unclear whether the U.S. also had fingerprints or some other means to identify the body on site.

I retract my statement about DNA testing, yet I'm still skeptical. He was a terrorist involved in 9/11 massacre, but why was the disposal of his body so abrupt?

Where have you been? There was a 100+ page thread on this after the raid. Everything was hashed out in great detail.

Basically, the USA wanted to take the so-called "high road" and not publish death photos. Apparently, his skull was pretty messed up. A 5.56mm to the head can do that. It would have inflamed people.

Saddam and Ghaddafi are not good parallels. The U.S. was NOT in control of those bodies. Both died at the hands of their countrymen, and those folk had no problems taking pictures of the corpses.

what if OBL was dead before the raid, but to cover up the raid, and deny it being a failure, the US still said that it was a success, and the Al-Qaeda and Taliban got the perfect opportunity to confess his death, by lets say natural means, long before the raid.

It could have demoralized Al Qaeda had it been announced by themselves.

The problem is not just the population inside Pakistan that is getting radicalized ; A significant portion of radicalization and terrorist attacks were also carried out British Pakistanis who no doubt are not of an "idle mind" disposition ; This has to do way beyond poverty and illiteracy and the principal conclusion carried out through studies by Christine Fair et al. was the lack of assimilation of British origin Pakistanis into the mainstream social fabric. Unfortunately, this is also turning out to be the case of American Pakistanis too. Her detail conclusions in Who Are Pakistan's Militants and Their Families ? also states

The assertion that its the 'lack of assimilation of British origin Pakistanis into the mainstream social fabric' is the cause of radicalization is very wrong. Overseas Pakistani communities have assimilated into their host societies as much as their Indian counterparts or any other migrant group. I would know so because I live in London, and I do have an active social life that allows me to go to different places and observe the so called assimilation of migrant groups.

These overseas communities were doing just fine prior to the initiation of WOT. There were hardly any religiously motivated problems that occured in UK or USA, apart from some famous examples like Omar Sheikh of course. Since 911 however, the growth of fundamentalism has increased remarkably and there are a number of reasons that can be attributed to this phenomenon.

First let me also state that extremist activity is only restricted to those who hail from the majority Sunni sect. You won't find any member of the Pakistan Shia, Ahmadi, Christian and Hindu group being involved in terrorist activities. Even amongst the Sunni sect, there are specific groups which account for the majority of terrorist activity, specifically the Deobandi and Wahabi strands.

Going back to Omar Sheikh, he was recruited in London School of Economic by fundamentalists who were recruiting for the Bosnian conflict. Back then, these fundamentalists were operating with the blessings of home based agencies who thought they could control the growth of extremism. But, that wasn't the case as Deobandi control of Sunni mosques funded by Saudi Arabia in UK has been increased in the last decade. This has led to increasing radicalization of the large Muslim community in Britain dominated by Pakistani's.

Radical Islamic sect 'has half of Britain's mosques in its grip' | Mail Online

Now that the Deobandi's have a free hand to preach and present their Islamic interpretation, they are radicalization the Sunni sect like a fire in a forest. I have visited their mosques and seen with my own eyes people being radicalized by what they are taught in these mosques.

The problem here is the teaching of an intolerant and violent variant of Islam that is causing great problems for all Muslims.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Until Saudi Arabia, and their funded groups are not stopped, this problem will continue to exist.

Deoband is in India, just so you know and could visit. They used to curse Pakistan and Jinnah unashamedly and their objective for Pakistan is to turn it into an Islamic state where its sole purpose is for the violent and aggressive expansion of their own Islamic variant.

I wound'nt read too much into these office desk specialists like Christina Fair et al. Had they known the real causes, they would have been able to present solutions too.

You should know by now I am the opposite of a conspiracist. I generally can't deal with them because there's little logic and I do love logical thinking, although I'm not the best at it at times. ;)

If bin Laden had been dead before the raid (let's say of kidney disease) and the Americans put on a dog & pony show in Abbotabad, AQ would have very quickly discredited the operation by announcing "bin Laden was dead in 2006; here is the proof."

The bin Laden raid was a great morale boost to the USA. It brought feelings of closure for the crime of 9-11. Al Quaeda would not have let the opportunity escape to squash the euphoria, if they could have.

Instead, they more or less admitted bin Laden died that night in his compound.

No trial, no guilt. Awan was murdered by American forces. They had so many stories but somehow they only came out after his killing to justify the US drone attack.

If the US can forget all norms of due process, US personnel in Pakistan should be targeted as well. No due process, free for all!

.
due process in war? Please elaborate.

Should we hold a trial in the heat of combat? What has Awan done that merits special treatment? Because he has a piece of paper that says "British Citizen"?

Mod Edit: Shocking comment .. 2 naughty points for you

Why would they have said that?

They might have thought that the US will now slowly pull out, and then the Taliban and AQ will slowly get their stronghold back in Afghanistan.

Although your point is valid along with mine, because it is just pure speculation, and it can never yield true facts.
