In a full-blown war with India sinking the INS Vikrant should be top priority

Did you want America to carpet bomb the whole of Afghanistan to eliminate a threat that doesn't involve them with no clear goals? The U.S. pulled out in 2011 when there was 36000 and now because of unchecked growth the group grew to 60000.

no the taliban won the war. that all that matters.

i dont care how you arrive at the destination. the result is what matters.

start of war

taliban = basic weapons, 20000 number
nato = hundred of thousands and advanced weapons

end of war

nato = goodbye
taliban = 60000

make all the excuses you want.

Taliban lost most of their land so how is it a win? Its more of a Pyrrhic victory if you know what that is.

The white is Taliban land and you can tell the own a small minority of the country compared to them owning the country in 2001. Guerilla warfare is unwinnable which the U.S. should have learned in the Vietnam war.

Look friends...even we make possible for k8 to fire Amarams..:lol:

If your parameter for victory is lost land, how is it a Phyrric victory if by the end of the war, they'll have claim to all the land again?

The Indian attack would be Guerilla? That doesn't make any sense. Pakistan would be the one who would use guerilla if in a defensive war.

no the best attack would be indians employing this kind of warfare with high numbers, learning from the vietnam and taliban conflicts. considering the terrain is similar.

Look up the definition and you will see what I'm talking about as he is saying Taliban won the war.

This thread will be exactly what the title is about. I stress this simply because aircraft carriers allow strikes from the sea thus eliminating the need for airbases. How this can be accomplished is complex since most likely the ship will be with a carrier strike group but there are three options I see #1 being anti-ship cruise missiles launched in barrages from shore based batteries #2 being air-launched Exocets and #3 being ship-launched or even submarines destroying the ship. The ship will be well defended so the best option would be a preemptive sinking when war is imminent. If someone with more experience about Pakistan's and India's navy that could elaborate on options.

JF-17 with Exocet.
You want to attack a unfinished ship in a shipyard? It'll be 10 years before everything including the fighters are ready.

And what if Pakistan played a defensive war? Counter intuitive when India has more soldiers and the better ability to push through Pakistan.

What do you think of post #22? And would it be a good sacrifice if the Pakistani subs were lost?

India has a lot bigger navy than just the AC. We'll need those subs to tackle the rest of their armada. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable could correct me, but I see that as a net loss.

35000 Helis.... damn it would take years manufacturing them even if one was playing generals C&C Zero Hour or Red Alert..... Good old gaming days :)
