Pakistan has not given us 4 billion dollar undivided asset of pre 1971. During 1971, all the bank deposit of East Pakistan were transferred to West Pakistan and thousands of people lost their savings. All the East Pakistan branch of the bank were looted and transferred to West Pakistan. That's why our foreign currency reserve started with 10 Dollar donated from the pocket of Finance minister. Pakistan also exploited continuous 24 years, whose economic value stand at 2600 million GB Pound(in 1971 rate). They even looted the relief money meant for the Bhola cyclone victims. Last of all, they conducted genocide and scorched earthed before leaving Bangladesh making this country a ruin. I do not think any knowledgeable Bangladeshi has any appetite to donate even 1 dollar.

My friend, 4 billion dollar back then is like 400 billion dollar right now.

As u rightly pointed out, we also need to count the 24 years of continuous looting.

So, overall the total amount is really, really big.

That's why I always say, that had we been independent from 47, we would've been in the position of Malaysia today.

.
anyway, what is BD defence budget. I mean if you have less to spend on defence then you can spend on other sectors. I don't buy the argument, that Pak looted east Pak. If east Pak had so much valuable resources, then It would have sky rockted now... the current boost in BD economy is due to foreign investment and single part govt (not due to jute etc).. Pak couldn't develop an investment environment due to political and security instability since 2004/5.

.
Which is why they have invested in at least $65 billion in Pakistan with many more billions earmarked for investment in the coming years and decades.

They have LOANED you money which not only has to be paid back at rates that cannot be revealed, but must be used to buy the excess production of Chinese sunset industries. They win going in and coming out. :enjoy:
India losing an aircraft is not defeat. Surrendering half your country and 93000 prisoners is the proper definition of defeat.
Good luck Bangladesh, good that you are joining the development train. The fastest growing large economy in the world is next door to you, make use of it.

Evidence please that they have loaned it to us?...............................................you expect us to believe someone who belongs to the race and nation that calls for the death and destruction of the Pakistani race and nation?.....................

You mention 1971 but fail to remember August the 14th 1947 when a Pakistan minority was able to rip, dismember, and spread open wide the legs of mother india and split her into 3 pieces, with india losing 35% of it's territory...........................and there is nothing indian kind can do about it..........:chilli:

So how does it feel to have your airforce thrashed, humiliated and battered in front of the whole world by an enemy that is more than 7x smaller than india?........................................that too when india had the full backing of the West and Russia?............................:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:....................you are FAR too weak, powerless and pathetic to do anything about it...........

Bro it has already been discussed to death.

I can give u many examples but it will totally derail this thread and I will be in the risk of getting banned yet again.

Just remember that the way West Pakistan exploited East Pakistani economically was totally unprecedented and it was one of the main reasons behind our liberation war.

Congratulatoins Bangladesh. I pray you prosper to your maximum potential.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Baqwas has caused a $35 billion loss to the Nominal GDP in less than a year in office. The worst political party in Pakistan's history.
You have zero understanding of how the economy works.

The previous government was only able to achieve high growth because it took out massive loans, which artificially increased the gdp growth rate. The current slow down in the economy is because of PMLN's shitty policies, which PTI is being forced to correct.

Also, this figure isn't set in stone, and I don't believe for a second that Pakistan lost that huge of an amount in GDP. If it did, than it should have experienced a -10% growth rate of gdp in 2017-2018 fiscal year, which it did not do, it's growth rate for 2017-2018 was +4.5%.

Such a massive decline would have bankrupted the country, and the country would have been in an economic depression.

Really feeling sorry for Pakistanis. They r going nowhere as a country.

Hopefully hasina will be kind enough to help them out. Pakistan needs all the economic help right now and as the fastest growing economy in this region we Bangladeshis do have some responsibilities.

we have surprised the whole world with our economic growth. Long may it continue.
You don't need to feel sorry for Pakistan, it will do just fine. It has weathered:
  • the WoT & 70,000 lives lost + $200+ Billion in economic damages
  • played dangerous double-games against two superpowers right next door
  • while simultaneously handling infiltration & sabotage from a plethora of hostile intelligence agencies including but not limited to R&AW, Mossad, Iranian Intelligence, modern inheritors to KGB, US agencies, MI6, KHAD, etc. Attacks have drastically decreased, demonstrating that Pakistan has countered these agencies
  • Going toe-2-toe with India despite being a fraction of its size & humiliating it in the most recent encounter. IAF is too afraid to attack, otherwise they would have done it by now
  • Western sanctions multiple times, something you have never experienced in your life
Now the US is begging Pakistan to help it leave gracefully. In fact, Donald Trump is ready to meet Imran Khan, who by the way, told Trump to shut the hell up. Can your prime minister do that, lol? Things will get better for Pakistan, no doubt about that. It's just passing through current account & fiscal deficit issues, which the current government is already doing a good job in fixing. US will be forced to allow economic aid to flow to Pakistan again if it wants a stable Afghanistan, post-withdrawal. Furthermore, once US leaves, it's goodnight for R&AW and KHAD and their training camps. In fact, that has already started happening (https://www.dawn.com/news/1453853). Balochistan will stabilize soon enough, it's already significantly improved.

Your economic growth will be short-lived, insha'Allah. Don't worry. Pakistan went through the same boom-bust cycle years ago. It became one of Asia's fastest growing economies during Musharraf's time. Economic growth is always temporary, it comes and goes. Remember this, however, that the military power and the ability to use it protect independence is what matters. Otherwise, countries like Japan & Germany would be superpowers. They are not, they are just emasculated countries disgracefully begging the US to protect them against threats like North Korea. Pakistan has:
  • a strong military, one of the largest and most powerful
  • hundreds of nuclear weapons, deliverable through variety of means
  • one of the most powerful and renowned intelligence agencies in the world
Bangladesh on the other hand, isn't even comparable. It is just a vassal state for India, with no real foreign policy. Its army, air force, navy aren't even worth mentioning. It can't even stop Myanmar from killing Rohingya brethren (which are really just Bengali's and don't even bother arguing with me, I've had Rohingya tell me this to my face). I'm sure some brothers from Bangladesh will admit this. In fact many of the ones I know already do and quietly cheer Pakistan on, as they know their own government is just a puppet for India and also incredibly anti-Islamic.

Also, Pakistan still has deep intelligence network inside Bangladesh. These networks can be activated whenever some Pakistani general wakes up grumpy in the morning, remember that. You can boast right now about how you came a long way from independence. However, I believe Allah (swt) gave Pakistan nuclear weapons in exchange for losing East Pakistan. I think that is an excellent trade.

At least now, Pakistan is an internationally-recognized nascent power. Iran, despite being much weaker, is a major regional power but that's because they have hegemonic designs for the region. Pakistan right now is the opposite, defensive and relatively peaceful. The whole equation will change once some generals start having grand dreams of being a major power. Once that happens, you will see Pakistan testing ICBM, SLBM, SSBN, everything. You may even see your country split apart...

Imran Khan needs to take all the measures to prevent Fatf from making PAK blacklisted.

If that truly happens, then I see no hope for Pakistan economy.

It will massively decrease the foreign investmevt in Pakistan. Then add the country's security situation, regular terrorist incidents, rising inflation, depreciation of the RS against dollar, non existent export, massive import, hostile neighbours, unimaginable amount of foreign debt and what u will get as a result is a country that's going deep down the gutter and as a result nobody is interested to make any investment there.

Pakistan needs some devine help. Otherwise I don't think it will manage to turnaround its economy.

This just measurement in realtime US Dollar value against Pak rupee, meanwhile Pakistan economy is working on Rupee in which the economy still growing albeit at much lower pace compared to Bangladesh. As i can see, Pakistan just starting to leaving their old habit to appreciate Rupee value forcefully against US dollar at cost of their monetary reserve. In which causing the nominal GDP of Pakistan decreasing compared to years before in US dollar vallue. At the same time Bangladesh with their much healthier current account ballance is still capable and afford to fixed rated or mix control their Taka against US dollar, they also had less import in many sector compared to Pakistan in which creating a less burden on their fiscal (like energy (oil, coal and gas), severe restriction on Auto import, and so on).

2018 GDP of Pakistan was measured considering 1 USD = 108 Pak Rupee when actual market value was 128-130 Pak Rupee.

It just showed artificially higher value for GDP in 2018 but not in 2019 when actual conversion rate in considered. Last 2 year Pakistan has kept the GDP high artificially.
