We would be fighting an unnecessary Kashmir war with India.Kashmir have no usefulness to us,but we had to bear the burden of financing the west pakistani adventure to take Kashmir from India by force. With 1971 we get rid ourselves from doing other people's war.Bangladesh's current defence budget is 221 billion Taka.If we were East pakistan then we would have to spend 221X3=663 billion Taka or 880 billion Pak Rupee to finance the Kashmir war(Pakistan's current defence budget is 860 billion Pak Rupee). All these money would have taken in west Pakistan and spent on west pakistani soldier and shiny weapon to wage war against India. While we would have heard the epic mantra"defence of East Pakistan lays in the west Pakistan" shitHad Pakistan continued to remain united with 'Bangladesh', may be the relations between the two wings would have gradually improved and a genuine unity may have emerged. May be there would have been mass movement of people between the two wings for jobs and even marriages. Who knows the final provocations like military action etc was actually the doings of CIA to trigger an Indo-Pak war.
Anybody interested to imagine how the scenario would have looked like?
The cricket team composition, the film industry, the economy, the politicians, tourism, the military etc.
It might have been more possible than Pakistanis think. You know exchange of fraction of population between the two wings. The two communities (Bengalis and West Pakistanis) complementing each other economically. And lo and behold - a synthesis!
You are bragging about one less problem. We have thousand less problem to worry about.
Allama Iqbal's poem didn't created pakistan. It was the vast Bengali muslim's relentless support for Muslim league and separate muslim home land agitation which gave Muslim league the legitimacy to fight for Pakistan against Congress and British.Do you know where muslim league was in power before partition and who done the 'direct action day' to achieve Pakistan?
Okay yeah. But Pakistan is nuclear state now and much better equipped to deal with Indian aggression than Bengal. Also our economy sucks in which case we would have been much better off as part of Pakistan.
OkayThat's why you have Bangladesh? One less problem for Pakistan whereas for you, it is win?
If the crisis continued, i think it would only bleed the economy furthermore. Pakistan economy went downhill whereas Bangladesh economy took sharp turn until now. The problem is not the economy, rather it is government of Bangladesh. With government like you have, economy of any nation is bound to suffer.
Pakistan economy is just started to recover. Trust me, you guys are better off without Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan has a lot more to shoulder on.
Nuclear state comes with huge price. It is economical sanction. Pakistan paid heavy price which Bangladesh didn't have to. Since Pakistan economy is slowly stabilizing, it doesn't change the fact that along with Pakistan, East Pakistan would have gotten a lot worse which Bangladesh didn't as Nuclear-free nation - exempted from economical sanction.
