Image Problem: I come from Pakistan , omg Pakistan , thats scary !

The nation that gets the most negativity from China, is JAPAN... and yet Chinese people (including me) still love to buy Japanese gadgets, watch Japanese television programmes, and buy Japanese cars.
I thought China spoke mostly Mandarin and Cantonese, while Japan spoke Nihongo? How would you understand that?

As well, the problem comes in US. Most American don't differentiate between Afghan, Pakistan, or Indian, and same with Japanese, Chinese, or Korean.

I have in fact seen this sentiment from Chinese ( both mainland and Taiwan). Is the discomfort historical? the common complaint I have heard is that Japan will still not modify it's history books to reflect reality.

Yes it's to do with the 20 million Chinese civilians that were killed during the Japanese invasion of China. The current textbook controversies and the government visits to the Yasukuni Shrine just tend to re-open old wounds.

(And thanks to America again for the help during WW2 ).

Although to be honest, I don't think people really care about Japan much nowadays, after all it was around 70 years ago. All the war criminals are dead, there is no one left to take vengeance on.

My point is that almost ALL of the nationalist anger in China is directed towards Japan, there isn't much anger left over for other nations.

We read the subtitles, lol.

Also, the Japanese use Chinese Han characters to write (they call it Kanji)... so it isn't that difficult for a Chinese person to read things that are written in Japanese.

Kind of sounds like when People in other countries can't differentiate between Americans and Canadians. Sometime in the future that "might" include Mexicans as well?
