IGMDP set to complete this year ?

Now, 4 out of the 5 missiles which were part of the IGMDP have been marked as completed.

With Prithvi and Agni already inducted, Akash had final test trials in Jan this year after which it has ordered by IAF. And Nag completing the extensive trials just recently, including amphibious trials for Namica.

Nag is a welcome development, as it's mak range is 4 km for stationay and 2 km for fast moving targets. Namica and Nag being indigenous, we will save some of money as forex is saved.

Only Trishul is pending ?

Trishul has been cancelled. And IGMDP has already been closed. It has been a resounding success, though delivery of products has been late.

From now on, all development of weapons will be undertaken through JV's except for strategic systems.
