Israel Defense Force (IDF) soldiers reportedly took photographs of classified military equipment and posted them in online forums, potentially leaking sensitive intelligence to the public.
Israel’s Hadashot TV news reported Tuesday that among the photos was one of an Israeli F-35 stealth fighter jet being armed while a “foreign entity” attends to the aircraft in an underground bunker at the Nevatim air base in the south of the country.
The report did not say where the photograph had been published.
The Israeli air force is careful not to photograph its F-35s carrying weapons so as not to give away information about its armament capabilities or any equipment being tested with the jets, the report said.
Another photograph of a top-secret tank was reportedly photographed by a technician at a base in the Golan Heights and uploaded to an online military forum.

A third photo taken by a navy serviceman in a combat command center for the Navy’s elite commando unit was uploaded to the same military forum.
“This is shocking, like an act of espionage. Anyone who does something like this is aiding Israel’s enemies,” a tank officer who saw the photos told Hadashot.
According to the report, all of the photos were taken by soldiers and not higher ranking officers. None of the soldiers had been authorized to publish the images.
Once aware of the confidential photos, IDF officers took measures to ensure they were deleted from the internet, the report said.
