ICC Men's Cricket World Cup

didn't watch .. but what happened ?

lungi gutter filth need to be playing against kenya etc anyway

wtf they even doing at a world cup ?
First time in international cricket timeout wicket of Angelo Mathews because of appeal by BD, the poor guys helmet strap got torn and BD shakib appealed.
Left a sour taste in everyone's mouth, no could stop talking how much in poor sportsmanship spirit it was. The 2nd innings will be interesting now though, revenge time.

Still not clear. What happened exactly? Please explain again.

@-=virus=- the East Bongos have been rather salty this WC. In the match against India, when Kohli was trying to get his hundred (which was a little cringe TBH), one of their fast bowlers deliberately bowled a wide so that the required runs were less than what Kohli required for his 100. It's another thing that he hit a 6 and crossed 100 anyway.

Basically there is some rule that if the batsman takes more than 2 mins to get ready in coming to bat, it can be appealed by the fielding side and will be given out. But no side actually does that as it doesn't align with sportsmanship, but Bangladesh did. Angelo Mathews who was given out was just waiting to get his helmet changed after a malfunction, he was already in the field.

Disgusting behaviour - they are hardly playing for a semi final slot. Bad sportsmanship - Bangladesh are the biggest disappointment - they just play poor all round cricket and then embarrass themselves by this

In the light of phil hughes incident it is absolutely shameful of these lungis to not give angelo matthews a minute to wear a proper helmet.
These lungis should be thrown out of International cricket, they have allways been a disgrace to the cricket. I am absolutely sure that none of the remaning teams of WC would have done such a nangi harkat.

Mankad harkat is still explainable coz the non-striker gets undue advantage if he is allowed to leave the crease time and again. This is just cheap.
underarm ball waali harkat, then.

without googling, did Greg Chappel or one of his lot do that once against NewZealand ? bhai ne bowling alley waali baal kar di, batsman had no scope of hitting lol

The underarm bowling incident of 1981 is a sporting controversy that took place on 1 February 1981, when Australia played New Zealand in a One Day International cricket match, the third in the best-of-five final of the 1980–81 World Series Cup, at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.[1]

With one ball of the final over remaining in the match, New Zealand required a six to tie the match. To ensure that New Zealand were unable to achieve this, the Australian captain Greg Chappell instructed his bowler (and younger brother) Trevor Chappell to deliver the last ball to batsman Brian McKechnie underarm along the ground.

Trevor Chappell did so, forcing McKechnie to play the ball defensively, meaning Australia won. This action, although legal at the time, was nevertheless widely perceived as being wholly against the traditional spirit of cricketing fair play.

This wasn't a dead rubber. Champions Trophy spot is on the line. Most importantly, Bangladesh needed to win because of the nightmarish world cup they are having.

I agree the optics does not look good, but BD was already 2 overs behind at that point. Sri Lanka would have enjoyed the benefit of 1 less outfielder at the death as a result of it. Would they have not taken the advantage then? Besides, Sri Lankans shouldn't be acting all spirit of the cricket BS when they Mankaded Joss Butler in 2014. Who was the captain then? Angelo Matthews.

Angelo is a veteran. He should have known better. At least Ramiz Raza and Michael Vaughn thinks that way. Instead of asking for permission from umpires or even talking to opposing captain he headed towards the pavilion to get another helmate. He was late coming to the pitch as well.

As for the hypocritical Pajeets here taking the moral high ground, you clearly don't have issues getting those Mankading done.

Watched that too, it somehow always bangladesh team doing unsavory stuff.

Congratulations on the win they played good, they play like Australia though making cricket not much of gentlemanly game.

Tomorrow gonna be good, if Afg beats Aus somehow they in semis, Pakistan now peaking and making semis would be perfect, another pak afg or pak india classic might happen!

Bad sportsmanship shown by Shakib and BD team today.
I don't think they did anything wrong as long as it was within the laws and rules of the game, which it was. Yes, it's unusual but I can understand why they did that with the way their team is underperforming and the Champions Trophy spot on the line. If it was a simple bilateral, this incident wouldn't have occurred but with so many factors coming into this game, nothing wrong with what Shakib did. They get those 2 points and hold the 7th spot for now and that's what matters. Although, I hope BD doesn't qualify since it would then be like a six team Champions Trophy. SL did so well in the Asia Cup but haven't translated that performance into the World Cup.
