Is there any specific gear or training the FC or local police lack? SIGINT, their own organic UAVs, better weapons? If there is a need to fill a gap, best it be identified so that the interior ministry can be employed to fill it.

They have been given basic equipment to conduct operations. They are trained on many different levels. Turk forces have been training them also in past.

Sorry, I meant to put it out there as a question. If it wasn’t an ambush, I.e. the FC were attacking the miscreants, then what failed in there preparation. Do they lack stand-off capabilities? Also, if they must go into an area, had the Hilux been armored to the level that is currently planned, would it have been enough. I hope there is a board of inquiry into the incident, to prevent this in the future and honor the memory of the shaheeds.

Although I would wait for PK to get the exact scenario/story, Im guessing the intel report was weak and either they walked into expected resistance (more than anticipated) or used wrong tactics against the enemy. I am not sure.

Vehicles cannot go everywhere. In these mountains, where you can hardly move in a straight line on a trail, vehicles cant be used. You are climbing up, if someone is waiting for you up there, he already has the vantage point and good observation. He will almost always be the first one to fire the shot. Ofcourse, after that, guys on the top will be overwhelmed no doubt.
