Till Pakistan add more Blk 52s and BVR capable JFTs in large numbers, we will have MRCA+upgraded Mig 29+M2Ks..

well, the article is not alarmist by western standards.

just consider this,... USA has no threats from Canada, Mexico or even China. It doesn't even require B-2 or F-22. But then you know, americans want to be a big power in Asia and they are paranoid of Russians forever, and see an active Oil profit-making corporate culture to keep scaring american public against Islam and Islamic countries, to justify more invasions.

So I will give a pass to Aroor for being under-alarmist. We need more such types.

Though i agree that MRCA is waste of money. 120 LCA-Mk2 + additional 60+ Su-30MKI is far better option. And remaining part of those 10 Billion$ can be better utilised in improving costly R&D infrastructure in country which is decades behind and need big funds.

IAF is always late in its requirements and future projections(just like Indian army Arjun blunder). MRCA will be obsolete by the time they arrive.

A bit simplistic. Bison is a failed upgrade. Point defence with short legs. M2k and Mig29 are from gone era. MKI is good and surely tough to beat. MRCA needs another 5 years to become potent. You will be surprised what PAF gets in the same time. And.. LCA is dead.
