Its so worrying .

I hope GoI read this and pump up more $$$ for defence . :)

.
This is quite troubling. India needs to step up its airforce budget even more to maintain superiority.

MORE $$ PLEASE!

.
Well lots of things in pipeline but nothing realized, Well if we just take all thosse papers and announce all the deals in a single day...then the gap can be widened in 5 years.

.
we need to be patient .
1. with the mmrca winner soon announced , it will be only matter of time the technological edge is regained.
2. tejas protgram is now moving full speed ahead, that should revive our numbers.
3. PAKFA & AMCA to look orward to.

chill people......

. . .
Well, basically, oue enemy is India.

And as the famous quote says "Never think your enemy to be weak".
Lets not jump in air celebrating this, but think of how the IAF will step on accelerator.

No time to relax, just carry on with your work, boys.
IAF is to be honest, outnumbering PAF in its planes/SAMs, but our pilot/war experience is much better. Still, that wont matter at the rate they are growing with, and we really must invest in the Stealth technology (As a thread says, JF-17 is being built with stealth). Likly source of income:

Sell the A-5 Fantans, make and sell more K-8s to Middle East, and sell F-7ps, after their decomission.

Regards.

The report is talking about only till 2012, what about PAKFA, what About MMRCA, what about Helis India is ordering. I know Pakistan is doing good to maintain but after 2015 it will be hard for us to maintain with India. But Let see till then we might have FC-20 and may be J-20.

. .
Not funds,IAF need MoD to finalize the MRCA deal..

I dnt think their is so much delay in any deal (talking about age gape)

We are making MKIs with full pace which is one of worlds best air superiority fighter (only AESA needed)

Every thing is going smooth as always .

Gov sign deal for modernization of our airfields without that we cant operate new fighters.

.
I do want mod to pump more money finish mmrca get tejas in service get aesa for mki sell of mig 27 and 21 invest more in r&d

.
I think MRCA will help but India should focus on the following

1. India should invest heavily in force multipliers and AWACS. Simultaneous and simulated offensive defence doctrines with an emphasis on retaining air superiority in Indian skies should be put in place.

2. India has recently shown interest in acquiring SAMS . India should protect its strategic assets in J&K especially and border areas generally. Akash and Brahmos should be adopted for defence and offence respectively and innovatively employed to surprise the enemy. After all surprise is a big weapon.

3. India should buy atleast a dozen IL 76 and get DRDO to build indegeneous mid air refueller technology and start a new thread and get NAL to work on such projects with home grown aircrafts for the longer term.

4. India should buy predator drones from Israel for the short term and invest heavily in unmanned vehicles as they will be the technology of the future.

5. Tejas Mark II should be developed to replace Mig 21s and should be inducted in large numbers. Tejas should be used in combination with superior and well proven aircrafts to gain advantage in numbers and impose authority with SU-30 MKI and Mig 29s.

6. LCH should be used for battle area superiority and with Arjuns and T90s. The radars India is developing for years should be deployed in huge numbers along the border for pin point accurate of enemy movement.

Air superiority is India's need. It cannot be compromised.

Predator is from US, not Israel.
