You take the first shot at the elephant, and the elephant is going to have a really hard time shaking of the missile as compared to a smaller agile fighter. Although you still have not answered, what makes the MKI such a great asset that its a game changer?
For you to get complete air superiority, you will need to cross over the border and come within the visual range. The IAF can definitely try to stay within its borders and try to take out PAF fighters from a stand off range, but there is nothing stopping the PAF from employing its Anti BVR Tactics. As PAF is adding more and more BVR fighters to its fleet, there is nothing stopping us from firing BVR missiles back at your aircrafts. We will see the MKI long before before it can see our fighter formations. For IAF to give effective CAS to your advancing armoured formations, it will have to fight battles with PAF in WVR.
Oh really, so having another dedicated officer makes the MKI invincible? Damn the Americans for only putting one pilot on the F22
. With the advance in technology, one pilot is more than enough to fly a plane perfectly. If MKI can engage multiple targets than so can PAF fighters, PAF is a fully network centric organization. Our fighters can fire their missiles and let the AWACS or other assets guide the missiles.
The MKI has problems, its not a "God's Gift to Aviation" as you people make it out to be. Having an air superiority fighter does not makes you invincible, a true multi role fighter aircraft can get the job done equally as good. Have you forgotten the F16's hammering the MKI in WVR to the point during the RF2008 where the Indian pilots refused to go one on one. You guys seriously need to stop worshipping the MKI and not take it as a personal insult if its flaws are revealed, its a good fighter no doubt but is not unbeatable.
Most probably AIM9
