I read somewhere, Uncle Sam won't allow PAF F-16s (The new ones) to fly out of their territory! :smokin:

. . .
People who are arguing that PAF has nothing to counter the MKI really need to go through the thread with the PAF pilot's interview. He tells the tale of the 3 RAF typhoons which were downed in the Anatolian Eagle exercise by the PAF.

mki is nothing in front of f-16........indians just bragging too much abt it.

Lacks TVC.........

Yeah.. the post stall maneuvering .. in which the jet is falling out of the sky..
Not even in their displays does one see the IAF using TVC..
The MKi is already aerodynamically capable of performing tight maneuvers.. bring in the TVC though.. and it falls like a brick.

Hi Santro,

The new Block 52s are coming with strings attached, aren't they? I read about this in one of the threads.

. . .
Griffo Radar is BVR capable coz of its range + Design modifications

Brother,

Let us not make this into one of those threads where reality takes a back seat.
F-7 is a very limited platform.
It shall still be very useful in an overall strategy which is based on sound logic, creativity and clear threat perception, however in the long run we shall be much more comfortable when Thunder forms the mainstay of our PAF.

PAF is not known to be defensive and certainly is never intimidated, however MKI is definitely a beast and we shall not underestimate it.
We shall ofcourse use all our assets in case of a war, with devastating effect...let us hope it does not come to that.

This thread is about a propaganda article raising hue and cry over good old PAF, while actually the aim is to get more toys to counter PLAAF.

you can see the TVC here. with out TVC such pitch and yaw is not possible. MKI's maneuvers depends on TVC.

=notorious_eagle;1690512]You really haven't been following threads have you, whats so great about the MKI that makes it invincible? With a huge RCS like that, PAF can see it coming from miles away.

Not the answer (with what?) You can see an elephant is coming at you from long range, what the counter measure?

Well it sure can take a shot, but definitely the other aircrafts will take a shot too. Considering both India and Pakistan are next to each other, most fights will take place in visual range or max distance of 40km. The multipliers cancels out MKI's huge radar range, that is the biggest asset that is placed on the MKI. For MKI to shoot multiple aircrafts is laughable at best, if our aircrafts go 1 on 1 than you have a point but fortunately wars are not fought 1 on 1. Did you see the PAF back off after the Mumbai attacks, the Indians tried to act naughty and sent an MKI to snoop around.

It is not right, that we have an edge over BVR and we will come to you for visual range fight. Its not only the radar range which is a + for MKI it can lead a group of fighters incl. BVR equipped Bisons, can help each other to detect fire, engage and disengage etc.

Unlike other fighters, MKI has a dedicated sensor officer for engaging multiple targets. It has the capability to track multiple targets and engage. Means no need to lock on and break the radar locks for a new target.

Can't understand when it comes to MKI which is more or less superior or at least equal to F-15, it has all big problems. Look at F-15 records, air war is for superiority fighters who as got more range, weapons and bigger radar.

The PAF responded with an iron fist, the MKI was locked and tailed by the F16 throughout.

Locked with which missile?
