What's new

Huge investment on the way as PM finalises deals with Chinese firms

They are part of CPEC's second phase but problem is Pakistan doesn't have much skilled labour near its coast of Arabian Sea so any future special economic zone might not be very profitable

Skilled labour shortage right now may be until they are taught and trained but we have huge number of skilled and educated pool available To be trained …..

Gwadar has nothing to export so why would anyone invest over there? Purpose of special economic zone is to manufacture goods and services for export. With the most backward population in Balochistan, it's obvious Gwadar doesn't have any skilled labour for this purpose

Gwadar will only succeed on an industry level when its population crosses 1 million. Till then there is too less of manpower and other resources to bet on.. also it's far from major population centers. Almost 650 km from Karachi and 850+- from Quetta. We need to build small 100k-150K population centers among these cities along the route. Our aims should be

1. Relocate 4-5 million people from other provinces (specially major cities) to Baluchistan.

2. Built two major cities and major town between them.

3. Make that Pak Iran gas pipeline online,, build power house over there to make electricity. And built factories over there.

In that case lots of skilled labour has to be transported from Karachi, Punjab, Islamabad to Gwadar. Who in their right mind would move over there given the security situation in Balochistan?

Pashtoon. And btw ham logo ki Banti b Hy. :D

This is propaganda for idiot awam. There will be ZERO Investment until and unless the bad security situation improves in Baluchistan and other parts of Pakistan. Which country in their right mind would want to invest in a dangerous country like Pakistan??
Call nawaz

Pak map.png

Pak is a decent sized country

If you read the report investment is taking place in Karachi, Faisalabad (I drew industrial triangle), and KP SEZ just couple miles away from the capital

whatever things that happened are mainly concentrated in yellow line area near Iran border or central Baluchistan and South Baluchistan specifically coastline is peaceful of course it needs to calm down and it will in couple weeks if not month as its still a low-level- targeted insurgency something that Turkey experienced for decades but rest of the country kept on developing even while some areas were experiencing these issues, even Iranian Baluchistan goes through issues sometimes
part and parcel of this region of the world unfortunately - you absolutely need to crush em but it doesn't mean the whole land mass becomes an issue

if Paris (an already underpopulated area) is going through issues doesn't mean Denmark, Germany is going through the same issues

According to the statement, Hunan SunWalk Construction Group has signed an MoU with a private telecommunication company to lay an optical fibre cable network of around 100,000 kilometres in all major cities of Pakistan with an investment of $2 billion.

I'm from Zhuzhou, Hunan. It is the company in my hometown.
I can confirm that the news is true. 兴旺集团(SunWalk Construction Group) official website has announced the investment.

Thanks for the motivation. Your country will remember your contributory words.

You are welcome. Now hopefully you people will move your behinds, stop giving out empty statements, and finally take actions against these terrorists, and hopefully stop expecting handouts and free lunches from overseas Pakistanis !

A big SEZ should be set up in Hub Balochistan and a railway connecting it to Karachi port.
Realistically Hub or Gaddani can become Karachi 2.0 far far quicker then Gwadar. Hub is also far more secure and won’t have issues in terms of skilled labour since people living in Karachi could commute to Hub daily to work.
Hub does not even need its own port we just need a cargo fright rail line from Karachi port to Hub and that will be enough.

If Hub or even Gaddani got even 50% of the investments Gwadar got it would be Karachi 2.0 right now.
We should slowly work our way to Gwadar. It should have been Hub first then Gaddani then Ormara then Pasni then Gwadar.

Providing further details, the statement said that Challenge Fashion has purchased 100-acre additional land to establish a special economic zone of world standards value-added apparel including cluster of supply chains with an investment of $250 million. The proposed project would produce exports of $400 million annually and will employ 20,000 people.

In dawn it says $350m investment. Anyway this is huge and start of China shifting its textile industries to Pakistan. The land is already brought so work will start soon. Another good thing is Chinese CEO don't whine and beg to govt all the time for subsidy. Pakistan have become country of beggars and thief. These Pakistanis industrialists steal gas and at the same time also cry about gas shortage and price. They will steal electricity and then cry when govt increase prices.

BTW this company already is in Pakistan working in SEZ.

All they ask for is SEZ and thats all. Meanwhile local industrialists cannot stop crying.

There are projects going on. Balochistan do have an issue. Ok. But all of the projects are in karachi, lahore, peshawar and islamabad.
This is private sector based where Pakistan companies are partnering with chinese ones.
So here government cannot lie.
You looser mentality is also hurting Pakistan like terrorism

Now read all od rhe projects are in lahore islambad karachi. Only two paper and steel scrap factories in gawader and i am preety sure they would find labour
