Coloniality, a legacy of colonialism, remains a powerful system through which the West exerts control over the world today. It extends beyond territorial domination to the spheres of knowledge, culture, and global structures, embedding Western ideologies as universal truths. By shaping economic systems, political frameworks, and societal norms, coloniality perpetuates a hierarchical worldview that marginalises non-Western perspectives. This video delves into how coloniality operates through economic dependency, cultural hegemony, and epistemic dominance, revealing the subtle yet pervasive ways the West continues to assert influence over global systems and narratives.

Much of the developing world studies science, medicine, engineering, technology, finance, banking, business, economics, government and law in Western languages, especially in English. It will do so as long as most research and development occur in the West. This is a huge advantage for Anglo/Western hegemony.

West is more powerful today than in the classic period of colonialism as they no longer compete with each other to acquire colonial outposts, but exert hegemony collectively.

Because of political, economic, or academic reasons, or because of discrimination, persecution or wars, millions have migrated to the West from colonized countries. This empowers Western hegemony too.

In ancient Rome, during the empire its population had slowly become majority non-white. Now the immigrant population has become gigantic spread all across the West and there is a backlash from Westerners. To even begin to change this, you have to set aside traditional and religious rivalries in the developing world. For that you need a paradigm shift along with visionary leaders.

We have to understand how the West came to dominate. It is not enough to say science and technology. That is part of it, but Westerners pursue and create wealth on a massive scale and have an ideology of superiority over other cultures, except Judaic.

To make amends for the genocide of Jews, Western powers started characterizing the West as Judeo-Christian civilization after World War 2. Westerners should now characterize the West as an Abrahamic civilization after the genocide of Palestinians, which has really been ongoing for a century.
