how to improve number of push ups

I wonder how many Push Ups can @Talon @Hermione G @ZYXW & @Marshmallow can do ? :unsure:

@Armstrong used to do 50 on my knuckles with legs on a high table when I went for karate...that was after some "warming up" exercises then some 50 sit ups or whatever you call it...oh the abuse...that was when i was white belt...then i dnt knw ....you comparing urself to us gals?! :rofl:

Best way is to do girls push up or start with 1 pushup per day..(atleast) but first you need to change your diet to salad n vegetable diet for about at least one month to get any immediate effect.!
My weight 95Kg (last month)
Only change in diet (no exercise at all) weight 91Kg...
see the difference of diet only?
I too can barely manage to do 2 push-ups...but now after 24years i have realised that i was wasted my body and peace of mind just by not doing exerciser


One must stop all sort of fizzy drinks and juices !!

is there any way to improve the stamina for push ups?

Try out some assisted push ups with a cushon under you to lower you as much as you can go. You can do 4 sets of 5 or 6 or lower.

If that's not working or you want more stamina, hold the plank position for upto 30 seconds (start by 10 or what's comfy) for 3 sets or more.

After about 2 weeks of following this go for trying pushups going as low as you can for 5 reps or less but only 1 set. Rest sets should follow your previous weeks routine but try to make it harder.

Don't worry, it's hard for all at first but then it becomes easier.

I can even do one handed push ups.



I guess if you can't even do one, you should practice with a wall till you get enough strength.


But this is still hilarious, as my friend's baby sister can even do push ups.


Well even i also can not do one properly :(

damn man thats weak.

do some against a desk, 5 sets of 10 reps once you can do those completely lower the height and repeat..do it till you hit the floor.

Endurance and strength comes from leg exercises.

Why would someone won't have a six pack if you can do 2 sets of push ups of 27-35,4 to 5 sets of pullups/chinups, 170 bicycle crunches and regular crunches and some free squats and watch out what you are eating?

PS - ofcourse got some flab after stopped working for in the past 1 1/2 months due to a minor procedure :( and so is the switch to yoga/body weight based training.

Good show lad, my Dad is the same age & he can't do a single Push Up without straining his back. I suggest you work on those Push Ups even more....once you cross the 60 barrier, that Upper & Lower body strength is what'll keep you in great health not nutritional supplements ! :)

Yeah---but unlike your dad---me in my 30's worked out close to professional level athletes---at times jogging 30--40 miles a week---or gym time 3--- 1/2 hours a day----or doing an hour of step aerobics with Hermosa beach girls in the early 90's.

.That workout took a big toll on all the joints---.

Dude there is no short-cut to build stamina:no: Today I can do 30 push-ups at once. At start I used to ride bicycle for an hour daily. After 3 months I joined Gym and start doing free hand exercise. Today after 6 months I have achieved the above 30 figure:victory: I still ride bicycle for half an hour daily.:agree:

I can't do any of that even at this age of 22 ! :ashamed:

But I can lift quite heavy amounts.....cardio has the propensity of bringing about an exercise induced asthmatic response from my body, unfortunately ! :cray:

dude what diet do you recommend? can i eat chicken, boiled chicken and can i eat roti?
